The wonders of Harbor Freight (Air compressor)

Tks Cryptic. It's been always on a 20A circuit. I assume it might be the starter valve but called quits on this piece of junk. I opened the pump's crankcase to disconnect the motor (when I was looking for a centrifugal switch before looking at the manual). Now the gasket doesn't fit the cover...

The wonders of Harbor Freight (Air compressor)

Who'd guess.... This tiny motor does not have a centrifugal switch. I believe it doesn't have starter windings. It just relies on the starter valve to relief pressure until it's up to speed. Now I suspect the valve is bad. I'll replace that now...

The wonders of Harbor Freight (Air compressor)

Hi all, I've got this Harbor Freight compressor for about 4 hard, at times, years. It never wanted to start in cold weather (45F and below), it would trip the thermal switch. It was never a problem since I don't do much work in these temperatures anyway. If I had to start it I'd just use a...

    Shop heater vibration absorption?

Thanks for all the help guys. I got all the parts and will update when I install. The noise in the bedroom is really low, but it is there. Not something that would bother me, but wife wasn't happy. For me to hear I'd need to really look for it, even being in the bathroom that is literally next...

    Shop heater vibration absorption?

Hi guys, Installed a bigmaxx shop heater last year. It worked amazing during the winter, but there is one downside. It is attached to the rafter on the garage roof, and the roof is connected to the house. It ends up vibrating the structure and an annoying low pitch hum is generated in my...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

You can find these on clearance at HD for $199 brand new, a few times a year... I think it'd be better to wait for their sale and get a heavier duty one, for less money.

Good small electrical pump for fluid transfers?

Not off the shelf, but I have done an arrangement using a vacuum pump (used for A/C servicing, $50 off ebay) and using 1/4" tubing, connected it to a glass gallon jug, drilling the cap for two hoses, one starts right under the cap and goes to the pump, the other is the fluid suction hose that...
