    Engine Rebuild Area!?

I got a bunch of rubbermaid totes that are about 24"x18"x18", they were on sale for $5 each at wal-mart. IMO keeping things visually organized really isn't the big deal, it is keeping parts from getting lost and keeping them clean until everything goes back together. Toss everything in totes...

    cutting torch contest

Looks cool. On the angle why wouldn't you want to start cutting on one edge and just go across instead of starting in the middle and making 2 cuts?

    Lost a great friend today

Sorry for your loss, dogs are truly a blessing. We had an English Mastiff for 10 years and he was the same way.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Harbor Freight 60 gallon, 3.5hp air compressor, working great: pass Harbor Freight lead-in hoses, hose on retractable reel, dry rotting and leaking: fail

Can I pick up small welding tanks in my car?

It has to be from the acetylene tank leaking and filling the compartment with gas, then sparking it somehow. I would just lay the tanks flat and strap them down with a tie down, then prop the trunk open with a short piece of 2x4 and a bungee cord. If it leaks it won't turn itself into a bomb.

    Some PB Swiss Goodness

Any idea on how chemical resistant the handles are? Obviously you aren't supposed to soak them in chems but the carb cleaner I use (Advanced Auto brand) is pretty gnarly stuff and will eat Craftsman handles. Anyone want to make a sacrifice for the good of the community? :D

    Air Hose Reel Advice

If you google "harbor freight 20% off" it will pull up a printable coupon good for any item. My reel is still new and I have no experience with longevity, only initial build quality. My regulator also limits pressure in the hose to 100 psi, if you were running a 2 stage compressor unregulated...

    Air Hose Reel Advice

I just got a 50' self-retracting hose reel from harbor freight, its running $90 minus 20% off. It seems to be pretty decent quality in terms of a thick very flexible rubber hose and thick steel for the reel and mounting bracket. It is 3/8" hose with 3/8" fittings instead of the typical 1/4"...

    Starting Metal Working Table

Just another simple idea I came up with for wheels on a smaller table, found a pic of basically how it would work. Think of it like a wheelbarrow: 1. Build the table as normal, sitting on regular legs on the floor. 2. Take 2 regular casters without swivels or pivots and weld them with the...
