    Weaver Jack Identification

I can see from what remains written on the tags that I have a Weaver jack. There do not appear to be any numbers stamped on either the top or the bottom of the round part of the hydraulic lift unit. At the back of the cylinder there is a flat part, and this is stamped there: Row 1: 1C952...

Rotary Phase Converters, VFD, Compressor ????

For many applications it is not practical. IE: different frame, different shaft size or length. A good rotary phase converter can be built for well under $200. You then get a smoother running, longer lasting 3phase more. A 3 to 5 hp single phase is quite expensive. And, as I said above you...

    broken FHLF80

I have had very poor luck with the Dual 80 series- so my is, in my experience, no. If it had been 36 tooth stuff we're talking about, it probably would haven't been a problem. I got so tired of hearing, "You should have used a breaker bar" that I sold the Dual 80's, bought a set of the...

    Craftsman Pro Ratchet

I almost typed it out that Zetor had them. The one on my 7711 is aluminum, several of the Brit tractors had aluminum oil pans. I've seen them while servicing LS-built Farmtrac and Landtracs. The one on my smaller Long tractor may be aluminum.

    Craftsman Pro Ratchet

The Sears in Cleveland TN had sets of (3) of them for the same price of the sets of the low profile ratchets. So I bought myself a set. To me, they're far better built and far more tough than the 72 series Snap On ratchets. After I got my Craftsman Pro's, I sold the 72 series ratchets I own...

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself".

Re: Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself". Thanks. I don't care I insulted him now. When I called about scheduling the power off for next week, the guy who works for the EMC thought I was still using "E"(the contractor who left in a huff in the original...

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself".

Re: Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself". Here you have to an inspection done by the county. They will then issue or deny a permit. A lot of the contractors will make you get the permit, so as to not have to deal with the building inspectors. There are...

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself".

Re: Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself". No, licensed and bonded NC electrical contractor. I didn't get a quote from anyone who wasn't. He made out the B-O-M and I paid to get them via his account with a distributor in Charlotte. His cost was about 1/3 of...

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself".

Re: Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself". There are no more factories in this area. He was one of the larger residential contractors from 1998-2010(Western NC land boom), but it is now just him and family. I originally pulled the permit, had the job...

Craftsman vs. Harbor Freight Plastic Socket Rail

The HF trays I bought became brittle and broke very easily. The plastic rails I got from them, have chipped and cracked.

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself".

Did I do the right thing, or how the "electrician" nearly fried "hisself". I had hired a guy to install a subpanel so that I could run my newest lathe and soon-to-be-here milling machine off of it. At the same time, I decided to have 200amp service installed. I was willing to pay reasonably...

Need wiring help on central vacuum.

Mine had the basic relay. It is screwed and I tried a couple from an electrical supply. I may have killed my transformer doing that ****, so fyi. I could not get the exact relay, it is long discontinued. As in circa 1982-1984. To clarify, in case it isn't clear- mine had a conventional relay...
