Milton is most people's top choice, brand wise. Is it possible the problems you're having are more to do with style rather than mfr? The ubiquitous M-type (the only kind HD and Lowe's sells, except for the occasional old-school T-type) fittings are by far the most prone to leakage, regardless...

It's got to be possible--the gas company meters your usage by volume (which they convert into therms). All that would be needed would be to add a time dimension to the volume recording, to get to the flow rate. I can't tell you where to find it, but something to do this should exist.

Nutdrivers also enable you to back out a screw/nut all the way with one hand, which is impossible with a ratchet unless the threads are galled or otherwise sticky. Once you break the fastener, there's not enough tension to reset the ratchet. So either you have to grab and release the socket...

I know you said no peg hooks, but I use LARGE peg hooks (double straight bars about 4-5" long) and put 2-4 hammers on a hook, kind of stacked out from the wall. Deadblows are on one hook, mallets on another, and 2 claws + 3lb sledge on the third.

No, Gary said you need a larger motor AND a larger compressor (ie pump). If you put a 20hp motor on a 3hp pump, the motor will draw the same amount of current as the 3hp did, and the pump will produce the same volume of air (assuming rpm stays constant).

I'm a weekender, so obviously I'll always be way behind some of you guys. :) With the compressor I installed last week and the associated air tools, I'd guess I'm now somewhere between $5500 and $7500. I do have to go through and inventory at some point--it might be time to add a third rider...

I think they'd do better by contracting with a small retail chain like Ace or True Value to set up microstores inside existing locations, rather than opening their own stores. Hell even one of the auto parts chains might work. But even then, it's a bit of a stretch, as there's a limited...

I looked at that one when I was trying to choose a compressor for myself, but $315 shipping to IL killed it for me. For $799, I could have just gotten the exact same unit brand new from Lowe's.
