Above 1200 Sq/FT Swiss Garage / Workshop / House Build

Hi Nils, Don't let anyone park in your garage until the floor is done. You don't know which car will leak oil/other fluids that will seep in the concrete, bugging you forever, or preventing further treatment of the concrete.

Garage Build in the Swiss Alps

Now that the build is finished, it is less interesting to see drawers and shelves being filled. The work being done is however no less. I have started on the closets in the tunnel, and kept on putting the Porsche together. But today I had a view that reminds me (not that I need it) why I...

In parallel with the garage installation, the car rebuild (post complete repaint) is going on. I have started using this beautiful drawer chest which comes from a watch factory. It is all massive built, no MDF or plywood in it. Makes for perfect storage of the car specific nuts, bolts and screws

There are *always* good deals to be found, especially if you are handy with a wrench. None of my 911s cost more than a new Golf.

Garage Build in the Swiss Alps

Hi Niels, It is an EDIT: Eurolift, made in Italy, sold by Rema Maschinen, in Niederurnen. Found it on Ricardo. Between 3-4K. Price no object? Get a Stenhoj. Realistically, in private use, and reasonable lift is good enough.

This morning I called a few friends and together we raised the lift. Took us about 2.5 hours to assemble it fully. Remains the electrical connections, which I will do with my BIL, who is (was) an electrician. It is amazing how much can be done with a team of dedicated guys. :bounce:

Lift: I went to pick up the lift yesterday. 400 miles round trip with a 2 axle trailer. Crash course in heavy trailer driving. All went well, except the high fuel consumption. Unloading the trailer was a good exercise in using brains instead of muscle. Each post must be over 400lbs. And today...

Let there be light! 12 LED fixtures, in 4 groups, the one by the garage door on motion detectors. One fixture in the hallway, also on motion detector. In order: daylight through the windows, evening light, LEDs.

That's a great feeling when you can actually see where you will put your tools/stuff. Feels very real from there on.

Yes, I "know" you from the early s registry. Funnily I also have a '69 E. Well, it is coming in before Christmas, from Frank on the registry. And is was oringially irish green. The 964 goes back to almost stock. It is losing its headlight washers, rear defrost (993RSR thin glass), rear...

Hey, matter of taste. Lucky we don't like the same things. Would be monotonous. Glad something pulled you in. There are other cars coming in. Life's too short to drive boring (color) cars.
