Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

Thanks very much for the help everyone. That's been great to work out the design plans. Excited to get this project lined up once I decide on a contractor to help me out with everything.

Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

Ah so my thinking would be if you reduce the slope, you raise the side walls to make up the difference and yield more headroom in the loft area across the 30' span of the building that way.

Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

Attached is the current design layout that I got from one of the contractors w/ the larger slope (10:12) If you look, the left side will have a lower ceiling height on the 1st floor but 11' is still enough to fit my 4 post that I already have with my 2 cars on it. So that works (not so much...

Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

Good question. yeah you are correct that we don't get a ton of snow. The snow load metrics I was finding was ~25-35 lbs per sq/ft. So really my goal is to optimize the space in the garage on the 2nd floor loft area while still letting the snow not cause the roof to fail by having too small of a...

Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

Hey there, I'm mapping out my dream garage and I'm trying to figure out what pitch to do on the roof of a 30x50 garage. Trying to avoid issues in the winter with snow while maintaining headroom in the loft I'm planning to put in. Thanks!

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

Given the current supply chain issues and their prior ETA of "Coming mid-to-late Summer 2020", I assume they are going to be delayed. I ordered a jack plate from Bendpak and it was over 2 months delayed.

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

Your mileage may vary but I've never once had any issues with stacking the blocks or any slippage or anything like that. Even while starting the car on the quickjack. I've used the quickjack with vehicles large and small (silverado and miata).

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

I've been using the quickjack 7000 since 2016 with the rubber blocks picking up everything from my truck to a miata and they don't shift. Heck, I've even had the Miata running on the quickjack to find a vibration and they don't shift. I wouldn't overthink it IMO.

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

Subscribed. Great ideas on this thread!!! I've been agonizing over going with with a 2 post or a 4 post and this last post was especially helpful.

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

Ah nice. Yeah the later Miatas are slightly longer so that's a win for the quickjack. No problem w/ the info. Glad I could help. lol, that would be too funny w/ Bendpak. I won't hold my breath but nice to dream :-).

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

My truck has an 8' bed w/ a crew cab. And it's a 3/4 ton so it's longer & heavier. So you should be good to go there. I'm in a similar situation with the Miata. I have an NB and it does fit but barely. To make it easier and avoid having to get it just right, I have small ramps I use which...

QuickJack - for those of you wondering

Yep. Last time I got weighed, my truck was 6,60x lbs (curb weight stated to be 5,755 lbs but with fuel, tools, random junk, etc. it gets up to a little more. Love this tool!

Searching for a new tool chest

Yeah it has a little wiggle room on either side which helped to slide it in and I didn't have to remove the handle which helped.

Searching for a new tool chest

Forgot to attach a pic before... excuse the mess. Need to clean off the mess of junk on the shelves and I need to ditch some of the old tool boxes & parts bins.

Searching for a new tool chest

Thanks very much for the help everyone. I managed to find a deal on a MAC Tech 1000 series 52" x 25" top & bottom. Now I need to find some better ways to organize my sockets, wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers. They are a bit out of control. Going to start doing some digging on that next...
