    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

Modelled up these slat wall screw in thingies that I saw online. They're split so you can put them in anywhere and take an 8-32 screw. I've used a couple of them to hang some 3D printed Ryobi tool and battery holders I found on thingiverse. They work really well!

New Canadian Build - 18x24 Detached Garage

Printed out a pair of Ryobi tool and battery holders, attached them to the wall using my slat wall mounts. Pretty snazzy I think. They take a few hours to print each, so looks like my 3D printer is going to get a workout. Need to order some more black filament too. Sent from my iPhone using...

Almost completed the wall panelling, just have a 4ft section left. Still need to paint everything but have to wait for slightly warmer weather. I also picked up a 72” rolling worktable for the back wall, still need to pick up a matching locker to replace the open plastic shelving in the corner...

I had Lowe's price match HD, I think it was in the $50 range per 4x8 sheet + save the tax, so it was pretty reasonable. Just have to paint it myself. The white melamine was an extra $30 per sheet X 7 sheets = $210 that I didn't want to spend. Since it's up high I'm not as worried about things...

Hung the remaining drywall last Friday and blew in cellulose to R40 depths on Saturday. This weekend I had my uncle swap out the breaker panel to conform to ESA’s requirements. I had purchased a Siemens load center off of amazon.ca but it turned out not to be CSA or C-UL certified so I had to...

Started the drywall ceiling this weekend. Putting up the vapour barrier on the ceiling was pretty tricky even with an extra set of hands. Got more than half of it up. Had some extra rockwool from the walls, so I stuffed it in the rafters, will be using blow in insulation to top it all off...

Yea I think I'm going to go ahead and put up VB on the ceiling before drywalling it. I picked up 1/2" ultralight drywall for the ceiling yesterday at HD. I plan on installing it on Saturday, hopefully blow in the insulation later this month. Still undecided on the wall treatment. I don't really...

I just set up octoprint on my Ender 3 with a raspberry pi, it is really really cool being able to remote control the printer and monitor it via webcam. My goal is to put the printer in the detached garage so this will be invaluable. Just need to get a wifi plug to be able to remotely turn off...

Had my ESA rough in inspection on Friday, lasted all of 5 minutes. Everything check out fine so I spent today putting Rockwool in the walls with my dad. Managed to get all the walls finished and covered in vapour barrier. Next up is to drywall the ceiling and use blow in insulation...

My First Garage - 20x20 Attached in Vancouver, Canada

Nice looking garage! I'm in Toronto, so I feel your pain on house prices and garage sizes especially being a car guy too. But looks like you're making good progress on your build. I find with smaller garages putting stuff on wheels is key so that you can rearrange things to suit the project.

Haven’t decided yet. Initially I thought of doing epoxy then I found this forum and starting reading up on other options, now I’m thinking about racedeck or maybe porcelain tile. I’m going to have to see what of my budget is left after higher priority items (insulation, walls, lighting, driveway).

I had my designer draw up the plans being fairly conservative to not raise any delays with permits. I know that 8 foot tall walls were a sticking point, so hopefully your 10ft ones will pass. I think with a flat roof the allowable dimensions might be different. Also I’m south of the QEW so I...

New Canadian Build - 18x24 Detached Garage

It's been bitterly cold here (for Toronto at least) the last few weeks but I managed to knock out the wiring over the last two weekends with help of my uncle who is a retired Master electrician and my father. First weekend we ran all the interior wiring, 2nd weekend we took care of the...
