    Furnace Acting up, Fuse Related?

Alright, got it fixed and got a 5amp in there. It ended up being an oxidized flame sensor. I spent more time trying to find the damn manual than fixing the issue! Hahaha. I appreciate the input. I didn't realize the blinking was a code, I thought that was something only a service guy could...

    Furnace Acting up, Fuse Related?

It is gas. I'll see if I can scrounge up the manual. I'll also take a look at the exhaust. Thanks guys! I'll let you know what I find out, if anything.

    Furnace Acting up, Fuse Related?

The furnace that heats the garage (and the house) has been acting up over the past few days and I'm wondering if it's Fuse related. We've been in the house for 3 years and haven't had any difficulty so I wasn't sure if it's the fuse or if thats just a symptom. Here's what's going on... the...

Single BX line into Garage; How best to split?

I have a single bx line coming into the garage and I'd like to install 1 8' light, 1 4' light, a spooled extension cord reel and 1 outlet strip. Am I better off trying to get a subpanel or run a bunch of splices? I'd prefer to use raceway/on the wall throughout.

    Flooring for garage gym.

depending on the quality of the mat you buy, and as I mentioned they aren't cheap, you get what you pay for. My 3/4" are rated for something ridiculous like 2500 lbs. The damn things weigh nearly 100lbs themselves. While I'm not concerned with compression, i do like the feel and "slipperyness"...

    Flooring for garage gym.

I have the 3/4" horse stall mats in my gym/garage w/ concrete floor. They run about $40 each for 4'x6', so they are on the pricey side. I have all steel plates at the moment, so the harshest i've done is a pretty controlled drop of 315 on an errant front squat rep. That was unpleasant but no...

Do I need baffles if I have no soffit?

if I put up the poly sheeting over the kraft faced batts and seal tape the seams is that enough to mitigate the moisture issue? All this is making me reconsider my approach. perhaps i'm better off stapling up some of those reflective insulation sheets, leaving a 1-2" space between the sheet and...

Do I need baffles if I have no soffit?

Appreciate all the responses. To clarify, I am not putting up a ceiling - this garage will be used exclusively as my home gym and for storage of lawn care equipment, etc. and a "hangout" of sorts during the summer months. I am worried about shingle/roof implications as this is in direct sun...

Do I need baffles if I have no soffit?

OK, i wasn't sure of there were benefits from keeping the hottest/coldest air apart from the batt or not. I think I will run batts up near the ridge line and put some "end cap" boards between the rafters to stop the batts there and leave the ridge line exposed. Thanks Gary!

Do I need baffles if I have no soffit?

My single stall is attached, but there is no heat coming in from the house - and I won't likely be going that route soon, if ever. What do you guys think for a ventilation strategy in absence of having soffits? Do I need baffles if I put up batt insulation in the ceiling? Currently there is...

Garage Gym in MN: Worth Insulating?

Alright all of the walls are insulating and i am planning to do the 6 mil poly soon. On the vent, I'm definitely going to do a ridge vent. Here's my question: Do I need to put baffles up in the ceiling and insulate over them and right up to the ridge? Or am I better off with no baffles...

Garage Gym in MN: Worth Insulating?

What do you guys think for a ventilation strategy? Currently there is nothing. Here's what I'm working with... There is no rear soffit. I added the foam just because i had some extra in a can and there was a small gap between the wood and the tar paper covering the rear (under vinyl siding)...

The Blank Slate: Dual Garages Plus Workshop in MN

Well, I haven't much in the way of progress - but i did make a couple of strategic purchases to facilitate some progress... I snagged a little 250w work light on sale for $5 And Menard's had a sale on their propane heaters so i picked this 35k to 60k adjustable unit up for $99. With these...
