    Some Posts On Lifts

I don't know of anyone privately who uses an in-ground lift. The cost is more than double a 2 post and an in-ground isn't really advantageous compare to a 2 post except maybe a cleaner look. Ground set up is way more involved as well. Anyway, I think maybe someone important should consider...

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

IPACA9 how big is your building? It looks like its pretty deep. I'm not sure how far in I'm going yet. I'll have about 26' deep so if I split it that'll give me a 13/13 front to back. Now that I think about it maybe I should do that since I want to go with a symmetrical lift. The weight is...

    Some Posts On Lifts

This has greatly simplified my search. I think this should be a sticky somewhere. I know theres a good many lift questions and I'm guilty as well since it takes a bit to dig through all the search info

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

Same here, the truck will hopefully be the least "in the air" vehicle. It's more for the older vehicles but I'd like to be able to use it for everything. My space is just big enough that the truck should fit in length wise, width will be fine, and height will be plenty (14'). Could pour the...

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

Good point, I'll have to talk to them and see if there's anything in the manual about that. Since I don't own one yet I can't check That sounds like it should be about right and what I was looking for, thanks Not a bad plan but I'm trying to be as cost effective with this as possible...

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

Ok so now just to figure out how far away from the back wall I need to pour the piers so I can place the columns. Suggestions?

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

Symmetric would seem to make sense. I think I'd rather have it that way the more I think about it, easier to lift the truck and a little more annoying for the cars rather than vice versa

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

It's most likely going to be a Forward Lift since I have a buddy that sells/services them. Pouring thicker where the columns are, yes Will install the hardware after the floor is poured, this is how he said he can do it and it wont be an issue. Minimum thickness was 4" but I'll be doing at...

Tips on selecting 2 post lift placement?

Hello all, In the process of getting my garage built. We are adding a 26 deep by 32 wide addition onto our existing 2 car garage. The largest vehicle I have is a 2004 F250 crew cab long bed. I'm planning on putting the lift in the center bay. Its going to be tight. If my numbers are right...

    Insulation on/around ventilation fan?

Hmm, I didn't see any fuse on mine but maybe it was on the motor, I didn't look too close but I know the wiring was just straight wiring. Hopefully it'll be ok. Thank you

    Insulation on/around ventilation fan?

Radix2, thanks for the insight. I had the same thought about air movement, figured it "in theory" couldn't overheat since it will be moving air unless the fan jammed up or something. I think we'd notice that though since they'll only be used when someone is present. This is not my expertise...

    Insulation on/around ventilation fan?

Hello all, Hopefully this is in the correct location, I figured insulation qualifies as a HVAC topic, if I'm wrong feel free to let me know. Question at hand: I installed 2 ventilation fans in the upstairs of our detached garage. These are the cheap bathroom type you can get at Lowes...

Please help me pick a 2 post lift

Thanks aka Larry, I kinda had the same feeling, is the build quality pretty good? Have you had anything heavy on the lift? Our 10k in ground lifts at work are working pretty hard whenever I bring my truck in for service. Thanks Kevin, I saw a couple threads recommending them but haven't seen...
