    I got the two vises out of the metal dumpster at a plant on Niagara falls that I was doing electrical work at. No there were no more vices in the dumpster. I managed to get the two out by my self, but it's a good thing they didn't weigh much more! I weighed the 976A, it was 138.5, but I figure...

    Must have been my lucky day yesterday! I got these two big vises out of a dumpster. The larger one is a Charlie Parker 976A and the other is a Morgan 288 1/2. Both seem to be in decent shape just waiting for me to get them all cleaned up.

    What size Service did you run to your shop

    For mine I used a 400A meter feeding two 200A disconnects, from there one feeds the barn, the other feeds the house. should be way more then I need. The added material costs was not that much more.

    Show us your cool, "old" drill press

    Here is a couple photos of my early 40s Walker Turner. The base is made from reclaimed pallets and legs from a lathe a guy on craigslist was scraping. I even found NOS pushbuttons on Ebay, the date stamp on them was from 1941.
