Got the pinion lock fixed! As expected, the pinion lock cylinders were pretty grungy with ancient caked-on grease, and the wedge surfaces a little galled. I had to heat them up a little to get them out with a punch. Not sure if these are steel or Zamak, felt more like steel, pretty hard...

I just stumbled on a thread showing similar Zamak (zinc?) locking cylinders on other parts, I assume these are similar. In which case I should heat them up before trying to drive them out? I'm hoping they are just caked with old grease and dirt, so they aren't "floating" along the quill lock...

I've posted this Drillpress before, but figured a clean new thread might be more useful, as I've learned a few things about it. As far as I can determine, this is an 80 Series drill because it has the single bar quill lever instead of the triple one on 100 series, but let me know if I'm getting...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Looking for the quill return spring for a Craftsman Model #103.23640, 13.5" press. Found a guy on Ebay who has what looks like the same spring, listed as part #22623 in the original exploded parts diagram, but he's not sure it will fit in my press. The existing one looks just like the diagram...
