Thomas. Respect re. the house build and being committed enough to lengthen each exhausting day by sitting in front of the Mac (points in the test there, Chris uses the PC ;-) ) and telling us about it.
But I am shocked and stunned my friend, this is bigger than clocked switchplategate...
Grizz, you may be struggling with Aluminium polishing because of the Autosol. The pro polisher we use described it as (no offence Nicola!) " your wife's face cream with sand in it"!
He put me onto Brilliant polish and it lives up to its name. Bit more time intensive for a perfect finish but...
Guys, you are correct of course, I am very very lucky to work on other peoples Astons every day. Especially for road testing!
But it doesn't stop you wondering if designers/engineers ever stop and think for a minute about the implications of what they do to the continuing welfare of someone...
We have a similar problem on Aston Martin V12s, both inlet manifolds have to come off to access the plugs. Considering the back third of the engine is under the bulkhead / windscreen it's a similar job to the '66 Corvette re. doing it by feel and losing pints of blood. I have just about ever...
Thomas, have you asked Morton if they'd be willing to diversify into Corvette hoods? I hear there's an opening in California.....
Very impressive service, great advert for them-quality and happy customers is what it's all about.
What a lovely piece about Sam, RIP and burn some rubber up there for us all.
Another way the COTU has touched me.....

Grizz, am I missing something here? Why travel to have brake pipes made when your local garage could probably do it. Either take a measurement to them with what ends you need and they should have the stuff to do it in stock. Or you and Martin could get pipe and ends from your local motor factors...
Grizz, Google Tracy Tools in the UK for thread repair stuff. They have everything, cheaper in carbon steel for that tool you only use a couple of times, really helpful and knowledgable on the phone too. Recommended.

Rian, we do lots of these projects that start off as something simple like an oil change and morph into virtually a full restoration over the next year before you realise it. Old cars/trucks are all the same.
Console yourself with the fact you are not the first to travel this rocky road and...
Thank goodness I'm a professional and have, obviously, NEVER done all of these things. Nor have I ever happily made and bent the perfect pipe only to try and fit it at which point I realise I got a bit carried away and forgot I didn't need two males fittings on my pipe but a male and a female......
That's good news Thomas because I'm getting withdrawal symptoms from not reading about your projects, it's been too long! It's a shame for us that you're enjoying yourself so much these days :-)
Shelby, I've been a watcher on your thread and really enjoyed it. But I read about the twins and just had to say how sorry I am, the toughest of breaks. Great tattoo, a poignant date too. Best of luck to you and your wife.
Good man for coming back to us!
