ahh . . . that makes sense. i use these regularly and have had a pipe or two on it through the years plus my dads has had that mark since i can remember. It wasnt till i got my second S on ebay that also had the mark that i started to think about it. Thanks for the info . . . thats why i kept it...
my James Harvey Williams collection :D i have two half inch S52's and two three eights B52's and they are without question my favorites. No other ratchet on the planet feels this good in the hand or works as well, my thoughts anyways. My love of these ratchets goes way back for me, one of my S's...
i have a thirty inch leaf brake that is capable of bending that deep, unfortunately that brake is at my car shop and the tool box is at my boat shop. Just got on a roll yesterday and wanted a quick fix after the umpteen millionth time i pulled that drawer out knowing full well it was going to...
Actually it just moves the stop back slightly as its not centered for some reason. It prevents the drawer from opening about an inch less then before but its tough to even notice.
I have been thinking about trying this since i got the box out of a storage unit across the street from my shop...
Just thought I'd share my solution to the severely worn friction sliders on a vintage SO box i use in my shop. I did some searches but did not find much on finding replacement parts so i came up with a work-around.
I pulled the drawers with the bad sliders and drilled a small pilot hole in...
well i'll be damned . . . the 11mm fastener exists . . . but more to the point . . . jeasus i'm outta touch with modern mechanicals lol. . . . for the record i kept the 11mm socket, its close by, just wanted a clean arraingment on that socket rack and something had to go :D lol
:D man thats some good info . . . . so there IS 11mm fasteners out there lol . . .
see some of the replies here lead me to thinking theres a discrepancy in there somewhere and some of the alleged 11's are in fact . . . 7/16ths lol
its a ford . . . that marker light could be either. I have...
were they 11mm head size or the actual bolt size? I have seen 11mm dia but not head size.
Maybe the fact that there was a sh!t ton of them in a bolt box leads one to think theres no place for them to go lol . . .
:D
ok so this morning i was upgrading some tools (got a new box so i had to get more tools lol) and i picked up a set of standard and metric swivel head 3/8ths sockets then ran into a snag. The rail i wanted to put them on would only fit 13 of the 14 total sockets and i really wanted to use...
welp . . . getting there. bought most of my Snap On stuff in the 80's and 90's so they feel right at home in this vintage box lol . . . .new drawer liners to
she cleaned up pretty good, i ended up just cleaning the drawer pulls with 000 steel wool and taped them off. Spent couple hours sanding and prepping then shot a few coats of PPG Concept single stage. i'm pretty happy with it for the couple hundred i have in it :D
Druder - yes i cleaned them with some 0000 steel wool and they came out ok but I'd figure i check and see if new ones could be located anywhere. I own a custom paint shop so i can get the painted surface lookin good as new, i really would like to bring it up to better then OEM when finished...
thanks, glad i brought it up. I was aware they were imports (what isnt these days) but did not know they were so bad. Also like a lot of things these days they sink more into marketing then the actual product . . . . thanks, i'm guessing thats gonna save me a headache.
i keep leaning toward getting a multi purpose CnC machine for my shop and have been looking hard at the Shopmaster Mill/Turn. The company has been around since i can remember and it looks like a decent (non professional) machine. Anyone has experience with this one while were on the subject...
