I am a native Texan and was raised in a small town located in the eastern part of the state. I have a state college education and have been in the glass business for 46 years (11 years with a glass manufacturer and 35 years as a partner in a contract glazing firm).
My interest in building or fixing things began with keeping an old bike road-worthy when I was in elementary school. I had a paper route and preferred riding over walking when delivering the paper. As I got older, my interest shifted from bikes to cars and electronics which my Dad encouraged.
After college, I was fortunate enough to get a job with PPG Industries and later bought into a start-up glass business. As the business grew we decided to stick with commercial projects such as medical, educational, institutional and military facilities. My favorite aspect of the business has been the estimating and design of aluminum storefronts, curtain walls and window walls.
I am retiring and plan to spend more time in the garage and more time on amateur radio.
