How do you cut steel in your shop

I have the same as most hobbyist, assortment of 4 1/2 grinders, 14" milwaukee chop saw, die grinder, sawz all, chinese plasma, and oxy torch. Thought the plasma was the cats meow when I first got it but find that I hardly use it much unless it is in a demo capacity. Am looking for a vertical...

    Jim's Interim Shop of Horrors

Great read, really enjoyed it. Hopefully you get to keep the car and find a class that it fits in, would really **** to start all over after all the work you have put in so far. Glen

    Opening a garage..

I second Streetbu recommendation, the experience will be invaluable when you do open your doors. Time is the most important thing to most customers, and time is the hardest to come by as a mechanic. Glen

    Heating a 35' x 65' x 16' metal shed

First of all insulate it, just finished mine, 30x48x12. I use a standard house heater off of NG, cost 250 a month uninsulated to keep it at 50 deg, looking forward to this winter should be less than 60 a month. As to your heater choices I would go with the forced air heaters, the heat will be...

Help...venting for shop with swamp cooler

Metlmunchr, got the 24" damper installed yesterday, it and the 12" that I had previously installed worked like a champ. Able to keep the walk in door closed with very little pressure build up in the building. Wanted to say thank you for your help.

    '78 F350 Dually Project

To absolutly sure take TC set off, pull the plug on #1 cylinder, rotate crank by hand back and forth with a 6-8 dowel stuck in the spark plug hole resting on top and the piston, as your rock the crank back and forth will see the dowel rise and fall, rotate crank till the dowel is at is highest...

    '78 F350 Dually Project

Not an expert on these year model engines, but am sure you can rotate the crank to line up the marks which should put you at true top dead center. As previously noted these engines were retarded 4 deg from the factory for emissions, with the TC set you got this will bring the cam/crank to 0 deg...
