    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

I ordered the Astro 78345 nano 1/4 ratchet on Amazon during Prime days. The delivery was promised by Aug 14. THEY JUST CANCELLED MY ORDER! Bummer. Beware if you order from Amazon. Any suggestions for a different source that is affordable and reliable?

    Solution for Lost Pocket Knives

This works for me: Buy a good knife like a Benchmade. You will love the quality and the sharpness of the steel, and it cost so much you won't ever leave it laying around.

Are all the little pancake / hotdog compressors basically the same?

I bought one of these to use in a lab at work because it was thd quietest one available. After a year I liked it so much I bought me one for home. That was 8 years ago and it has been flawless. Cast iron, oil lubed, low rpm compressor. Super rugged...

    Pleasant surprise @ Tractor Supply.

TSC fasteners by the pound is the best deal in town. Far superior to Lowes and HD. They also have a good selection of grade 8 fasteners.

Here we go again, Wood bandsaw to metal

This has been working perfectly for many years: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/atlas-bandsaw-wood-to-metal-conversion.478160/post-9185244

    Meat Bandsaw use for woodworking?

I found a heavy duty meat saw that someone began to convert to a woodworking saw. New upper and lower bearings, no motor, no table, no blade guides. I was in college and got it in a barter deal for some electrical work. It was the only bandsaw I could afford, but after finishing the design...

Atlas bandsaw wood to metal conversion

This may be a dead project, but when I read about it I wanted to show how I solved the problem. For wood, my primary application, the blade speed needs to be around 4000fpm. But for metal it is a lot less, around 100fpm. One set of step cone pulleys won't work. Back in my young family days...

Which should I choose: De Walt mid-torque DCF894 impact wrench or high-torque DCF899?

I have the 899, and it is the only driver I have that will remove my tractor lug nuts, crankshaft bolts, mower blades (bush hog), and sometimes pickup truck and car lug nuts. It is too big and heavy to be handy, but it is a must have for me. I have the 1/4 hex impact driver that I use 80% of...

How do I make this slot wider?

If the depth of cut is sufficient, the oscillating multitool is your friend here. Clamp a guide board in place to control the exact location of the cut and plunge in.

    Jet Mill power feed

Good question Dave. This was a big concern when I designed it. I bought the stepper motor and driver first so I could experimentally determine if a clutch was necessary. It turned out that the driver has an "enable" input that allows the motor to freewheel instead of locked at zero speed...

    Jet Mill power feed

I designed a DIY stepper motor power feed for my RF-31 that is about 50% complete at this time. I wanted more capability than the commercial units, and so far I only have spent about $100 on the motor, driver, and pulse generator speed control. I expect the total cost to be about $150. It has...

Who makes a quality wood match?

Minwax makes a good one, but you may have to mix two colors to get the perfect match.
