    Shop air line pressure?

The mass is different in the two tanks. The tanks are the same volume and different pressure. This means the tank at higher pressure has a higher mass of air in it. Mass of air is proportional to standard volume (SCFM), the volume of air at atmospheric pressure contained in the tank...

Hello Kitty themed tools or tool boxes?

If this guy posted on one of the garage security threads he would save people thousands of dollars. They wouldn't need a security system anymore.

Screwdriver with metal cap or lasertip

I like my metal capped Weras much more than the lasertips. They have more of a mechanic's screwdriver feel rather than a light duty electrician's feel. If I were using them in rusty screws I would surely want the heavier, thicker shafted screwdriver. I also like the balance of the...

    Question about tool box layout

There's a 'show me your toolbox' thread that is several hundred pages by now. It would be a great place to look for idea and find what will work for you.

Milwaukee M18 CP vs XC batteries

Yeah. I don't have any Milwaukee tools so I didn't know how theirs were for sure. I figured you were aware of what I posted, but I didn't want anyone to be confused by it. What you said is good to know in the future.

Milwaukee M18 CP vs XC batteries

Many here have said some tools (impacts) have more torque with xc batteries. However, amp-hours and amps are not the same thing as post 7 seems to imply. The larger batteries may be able to support a higher current draw (amps), but it isn't necessarily proportional to their reserve capacity...

    TIG recommendations

Many of the mid-range tigs will allow you to use stick with them as well. Stick will probably work better with 1/4" If you posted this question at weldingweb.com you would probably get a lot more feedback.

    What's the deal with Fastenal?

They usually cater to industrial customers. I've been able to purchase from them personally, though they aren't geared that way. If the bolts are an odd size they may not stock them. Only one way to find out; although I guess there are two since you could call them.

Fuel so old it was solid!

I'm glad you didn't think that was a personal attack. Your response made me nervous myself,so I looked it up to check.

    HF IR sensor

Don't forget changes in atmospheric pressure due to elevation. But seriously, one of the more accurate ways would be to take an ice cube and set it outside of the freezer. Then measure the surface of the cube after it starts to melt. The ice/water mixture will be close to 32*F. This assumes...

Fuel so old it was solid!

Methylethylketone (MEK) is NOT a known carcinogen. It is an irritant. So avoid getting it on yourself, but, it isn't that dangerous. MEK is chemically very similar to acetone. It is heavier, so it is less volatile (evaporates more slowly). The biggest danger (outside of splashing it in your...
