Name this baby blue 5 ton jack

Well, I'm back to my day job this week, and then going into a lot of traveling for the holiday (and after) so project Willy is on hold for a while. I just want to take a minute to thank everyone who helped me out, we may not of found Willy's real name yet, but I learned a ton in the process...

Yeah it's so obvious when you know what to look for. I didn't realize that was an arrow until Hiball data-pointed me. I normally work on cars, not the tools to work on cars (meta right?). Also I never expected a rubber bung plug.

Hiball, Thanks for the protip! This is why I really like having a manual. I looked but didn't find a similar manual to this jack so I just guessed. Is the fill hole this little plug? If it had been a bolt I would have tried it. Do I just pry it out?

Alright, so I figure out why Willy (thanks jake) was weeping. The seller must have dumped a bunch of ****** oil in there maybe in an attempt to get it working. It was 80F even at night here, and clearly not bled at all, so there was a TON of air in the system. It leaked more oil than I...

I opened the fill hole started weeping transmission oil. It's losing its precious life blood! Anyway, what is going wrong here, is that not the fill hole, why is the oil under pressure? Also I can't get this thing to even attempt to lift the ram, is it stuck in release mode or something? I...

Well, I am thinking of wasting a little bit of cheap jack oil. Clean up the piston as much as I can, dump some oil in the cylinder, and see how many holes it leaks from. The guy I got it from had a Chevelle under a car port, and this jack looks like it was left under that car port, so it's not...

That would have been great, but at least I can take pride in knowing that there are 12,344 of these pigs out there... or not...

Look what I found: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70863 Another unidentified baby blue Made in Brazil jack! These must have been a "thing" at some point.

Hiball, if you don't know what it is that has me nervous. I don't know much about jacks, but even I could tell it was something odd because I have never seen a release knob like that. I'm used to the big knurled spinner and safety latch. I also noticed the Made in Brazil tag when I was...

Thanks Cline! Here are some more pics of the bottom. Also, when you look at the casters think "Bearings? We don't need no stinking bearings!"

I pulled the rear casters out, cleaned and lubed them with Lucas Red "N" Tacky grease. They were very difficult to turn from being full out black grime and dried out grease. Now at least I can scoot the thing around without chewing up the wheels.

Cline, I don't mean to date you but roughly what era would you say those jacks were from?

Name this baby blue 5 ton long frame jack I went to Chicago yesterday and I picked what the owner claimed to be a 5 ton floor jack. Considering it's in pretty rough shape I haggled a little and got it for $25. It does not really work but it has all the parts, except for a bolt the holds the...

    Yost 31C Vise Restoration

Yeah a set screw would work. I have been able to find various lock nuts for Wilton vises but am not sure of the thread they are. If I can find a brick and mortar store that has them I will figure it out. Also, ranging from $12 to $40 I don't know how much it's really worth. $40 is more than...
