Long versus Extra Long 3/8 locking flex head ratchet

I have a 20" long Snap on 3/8" flex. It nice, but I rarely need it... I do use my SK 15" long 3/8" breaker bar. I need a 15" long 3/8" drive breaker with a 14mm socket to get the drive tensioner on 2012 Rav4 and 2005 Accord. 12" long is too short and a 1/2" drive breaker or 3/8" drive ratchet...

Slide hammer - is a 5lb one enough? - hub removal

I used the Craftsman CMMT14140 5 Lb slide hammer set to remove the hub on a 2012 Rav4. It worked, but I wish I had a bigger slide hammer after the job. It took about 15 hits with the slide hammer to get it loose. It bought the OTC 7703 10 Lb slide hammer for future work.

    Am I crazy to buy a new 5" Wilton C2 for $1300?

Like everything else in this lovely economy prices are insane...I paid $225 for a Brand new Made in USA Wilton Tradesman 1745 in 2018... The same vise is no longer made in USA and sells for $600-$650..... I could not justify $650 let alone $1300 for a vise but I am not a professional, just a...

    Longer 3/8? breaker bar

    good set of ratcheting wrenches

I have heard many say soak in ATF (I assume clean ATF). Why? Is ATF better than regular motor oil?

    Flex or fix head

I'm in the minority. I rarely use flex head rats. But when I do use them, I only use flex heads with a locking button. I hate floppy flex heads.

    Need Some Drill/Driver Advice

My Dewalt Brushless Impact driver DCF887 is one of my most heavily used tools. For driving screws, it is a must. I can also drill with it using bits designed for an impact driver. I rarely use my drill as the impact driver is so versatile. Brand depends on if you have committed to a...

Recommend me a sub-tool truck brand of pliers

I like Channellocks. They work well, decent price, and you can find them at most stores.

    Axle Nut Socket Set (automotive)

I just had to change a wheel bearing on my 2012 Toyota Rav4 and it was a 30mm 12pt spindle nut. I think this nut is common on many Toyota models. I bought an OEM tools 12pt set for $57, but I see it is out of stock now. The OEM set seems decently quality, but I've only used it once so far.

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

So true.........I have read the lame *** excuses on here, and there's no getting through to people that are only concerned about themselves and their own greed. Me. me me....

My point exactly. The same people who are gouging other people are the biggest whiners on corporate greed.

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

Reselling tools is fine, but clearing out a store of something and flipping it for 2x, 3x is just not right. Not illegal, just not right. Buying a tool, using it once, and returning it is also wrong. Finding broken tools at a flea market and taking them to Sears for a free repalcement was also...

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

I just bought a set at blows and opened it. The ratchet is pretty good (90T) and looks like it is repairable. The sockets are nothing special. Also want to note that not all the tools are Made in USA. The back of the box says "Ratchets, Sockets, and wrenches Made in USA with global materials...

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

I loathe greedy people who want to make a cheap buck by flipping a brand new set of tools. It is pathetic and unethical. They should get a real job. There are people who would like to use these tools (yes I went to blows and got a set for me and my daughter to use). Douche flippers like these...
