Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

That makes sense. My dealer doesn't even try to sell anyone a 5. A nice 4 or a stripper 6 makes more sense 99% of the time. I think the quality of the trim will make or break these boxes. The big aluminum bits could either look really cheap and cheesy or add a premium touch. I'm also a fan of...

Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

Neat, thank you. 28" sounds about right. They are keeping the 25/28/31" depths and adding a 90w x 47h x 31d triple bank to the top of the lineup. I feel the same exact way as you though and would like to see something in the 68" range with a few full width drawers. Matco will make a 57w x 31d...

Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

Has anyone seem them in person yet? I have the Matco catalogue which features the new boxes but is next to useless because it doesn't list dimensions. There a lot of other questionable things in the catalogue as well. Only 900lb casters are listed for both the Revel and Revel X, none are shown...

    Powerprobe ECT2000

The truck has a .1 mA draw and the battery has a voltage of 12.5 after sitting for a few weeks? You may be worrying about problems that don't exist. What brand of batteries are you throwing at this thing?

    Lets see your shop computer...

It would be nice if you had a hutch to mount the monitor on. My box always ends up being used as a bench for whatever projects I'm working on and I wouldn't want to give up space. I have a 15" laptop for looking things up and printing and works just fine. If I were you I would just get an...

    Snap-on truck/ buying snap on

This is the way to do it. Doesn't matter if it's Snap-on, Matco, MAC, or Cornwell. Your experience with truck tools will only be as good as your driver is. Putting the COO and rebrand arguments aside for a moment, you'd be hard pressed to walk off any truck with a useless tool. What it really...

Honest feedback on Snap On 1/4 universals...

I have that set and use the 10 and 13 quite a bit. Mine haven't broken or gotten sloppy yet but I've only had them a few years. I got that set off the truck for around $100 or so but I think that's just because my dealer was having a bad week or something. Paying retail for them would be painful...

    speakers/audio on your toolbox

This is starting to look way too expensive. Unless I'm misunderstanding something here, what is wrong with a set of bookshelf speakers? Grab a pair of Micca's off of amazon, wire them to any old receiver, and run an aux cable to a laptop or phone.

MAC 90 Tooth Ratchets In Hand Impressions

My MAC guy had the 1/2" version with him last week. He said the 1/4" was supposed to be coming in about a month, but who knows for sure. I plan on buying a short flex head when they do come out. I haven't had any problems with my 3/8" long handle yet.

Must have tools for working on BMWs

Pretty straightforward job, long extensions and a swivel help. The one part that is always harder than it should be is separating the starter from the transmission. There is a dowel pin in the starter that always gets seized in the ****** bellhousing. I have a long skinny screwdriver blade that...

Drill bit size to run CAT

It's cheaper in the long run to just crimp your own cables. I bought a big spool of CAT6 and a cheap crimper set from Home Depot. Not a set of tools I use often but nice to have when you need it. Image is just from google, there are plenty of tutorials out there if you or someone else needs them.

    Show your new tool arrivals

I have the same set of picks. Years of daily use and they're still straight and sharp. The long ones are a godsend for radiator clamps and such in tight spots.
