Nice work on the stand! I didn't grasp the outrigger concept when I saw the first post on my phone. After more posts and seeing it on a bigger screen it all makes sense. I am envious of your CNC plasma and press brake capabilities.
Your shop is very nice. How do you manage the mess generated...
I made a roof rack for a client using those Quick-N-Easy mounts. They work really well…it’s on the top of his daily driver 70’s vintage Mercedes 280SE.
I’m interested to see how your bender cart comes together. I am starting to gather parts to convert my JD2 Model 4 to electric operation instead of air over hydraulic which will include a redo of the stand/cart.
Didn’t quite finish today…we missed the forecast high by a few and it was overcast. My cold tolerance made it to 3 courses from the top.
It’s supposed to be warmer next weekend…I’ll get this side finished and work on trimming out the next wall.
100x this! I got a set of PB Swiss flat heads for carburetor work. The parallel ground tip helps prevent screwing up brass jets. I find myself reaching for them all the time now. I need to try out some of their hex drivers.
Thank you! I worked at JGR in Huntersville for almost 8 years, so I'm familiar with the area. I don't miss the daily run through traffic on 73 getting home!
I got a lot done over the weekend getting ready to hang siding on another wall. Mainly trim stuff…it was cold and wet so I didn’t get quite as much done as I wanted.
One thing photo worthy was getting the light over the basement door mocked up. This is a 12” diameter fixture. I had to convince...
If you can afford doing electric over hydraulic, I highly recommend it. I have an air setup on my JD2 Model 4. I built my Hossfeld setup with electric. It's really nice not to listen to the compressor run...the air pumps use a lot of compressed air.
I ran a JD2 Model 3 with the manual ratchet...
Got as high as I’m going on the back wall siding before I rent a lift. This is just a little less than 5 square. Need to get some more trim done, then onto the next wall…
@spazzyfry123 I think this is what you’re asking about. The dimensions are the approximate heights above finished grade of the eaves and peak.
Note this was before we realized there was going to be a basement, so it shows a crawlspace access instead of the centered doors I ended up with…
The basic dimensions of the building are 48' x 48'. It's split into 3 bays that are roughly 16' wide...I cheated a few inches to make the apartment and center bay slightly wider than the right bay. The apartment has 9' ceilings, on top of a floor structure that comes out right at 12" with the 2...
