Pre Block craftsman Grinder: free to a good chicago area home

Dang it... I'm a little too late, and depending on just where exactly you are, probably 1- 1 1/2 hrs away. I do hope you found a good home for the old girl

    Vintage RIDGID Pipe Wrenches

I just came upon this thread the other day, and wish I had seen it before my little "clean up" project. Below is my 18" Ridgid that I recently freshened up. Am I correct to assume that with the trapezoidal swash plate and "Pat. Pending" mark that this wrench was made between 1/1/1928 and...

11b30b4’s Craftsman 207.25603 8” Electric Hand Saw Rebuild

Beautiful job! The contrasting look of the wood and polished aluminum is very sharp!

    1-3/16” combination wrenches

Funny that this post would come along now... we were working on a John Deere planter on Monday, and the wrench needed for a particular job seemed to be 1-3/16". A big Crescent wrench was used instead.

Westphal 1874 Patent Woodscrew cabinet, "The Detail of Retail"

Wow! That thing is gorgeous! Even more interesting to me as i am less than an hour away from Joliet. I don't know how it took me so long to stumble upon this thread, but I see that I have several youtube videos to catch up on. Well done!

Time to break out the evaporust and paint stripper - Ridgid 24" pipe wrench restoration

Why not? I would guess that most here consider it a relaxing hobby. I think it's fun to bring back a rusted up or non-functioning tool to usable condition... "pretty- ing it up" just adds to the fun, and in many cases you wind up with a better quality tool than can be bought today. Add to the...

    Craftsman? Pollard? Any vintage experts?

The handles on that green cabinet in the first picture look kind of like Rem Line to me

    Craftsman worm drive saw parts

I kind of wondered so, but there is a bit of sentiment attached... the saw belonged to my dad (thankfully, dad is still around... that sentence kind of sounded like he was dead when I read it!), and was, i believe a gift from "us", plus, after watching a few you tube videos, I'd just like the...

The one thing i miss about craftsman/sears….

This has been an interesting and bittersweet thread for me to read. My memories and feelings for Sears mirror many of you guys'. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Sears was a go- to for everything... clothes, appliances, toys, bedding, and of course Craftsman. I remember many Christmases, Father's...

    Craftsman worm drive saw parts

I have a Craftsman 134.276102 worm drive saw that needs repair (I'm guessing the armature is shot, maybe bearings), and according to searspartsdirect.com, every single part is obsolete and unavailable. I'm guessing the saw was made by Skil... does it line up with a particular model and/ or will...

    Power-Kraft Circular Saw

#1) I always liked the old Powr Kraft line #2) I also like the old metal cased power tools, and yours looks to be a nice clean example #3) your dad wrapped his hands around those handles for, I'm assuming, a good number of years I vote a very enthusiastic "yea!!"

    Craftsman 5162 Age?

I know this post is a couple years old, but if these vises were made from 1930 to 1942 or so, is it possible that the "1087" is a date code meaning the 108th day of 1937?

    Skil Model 80 Drill

Don't know what it's worth, but surely there is someone who'd like to refresh that old brute! I'd sure hate to see it wind up in the trash, too
