    Anyone use lowes cabinets?

Prob anything you buy will be RTA....which is always a PITA. But if you get a deal with Gladiator, I'd say go with it. Every time I walk down that isle in Lowes I wonder what life would be like if I would have just picked the Gladiator cab lol

    Anyone use lowes cabinets?

I have one of the 48" cabs. It's handy and looks really cool, but a little flimsy. My biggest complaint is the process I had to go through to get two doors that didn't have shipping dents in them. This was 3 years ago or so, but it was absolutely ridiculous. It was a flaw in the way these units...

What have you built from an old bed frame?

Great thread here... I have a granite countertop business, and have used bed rail frames for all kinds of stuff around my shop. Built our A-frame for our installation truck out of them, also a really nice work table that we fabricate on. We use 2x4s as runners that make the table very...

I'm Gettin Tired of Dodging Wet Drywall Joint Compound!

no hawk for me, and I'm usually pretty clean while muddin'. Except for those Sunday afternoons that combine drywall work with cold beer.... I use a scooper knife, made by Kobalt. Scoop some mud, and neatly scrape it onto my 12" taping knife. I'm quick, and clean. I tried using a hawk back in...

    Miter saw stand

for the record....I'm a huge fan of a simple mitre saw that you can pull off a shelf and use right on your roll around work bench island. I get more work done with my little Ryobi than I do with my sliding 12" Dewalt. okay maybe everyone doesn't have a roll around work bench island.....but you...

    Miter saw stand

I have a Delta....got it from Lowes on a rediculous clearance sale. I think I paid $59 for it.....however it's a total pos. Luckily I don't move it around much...pretty much stationary at my shop, but when I used to take it with me to job sites it was a total nightmare to deal with. -1 Delta

Questions about restoring my tool chest.

oh, and thin the paint down with xylol before you spray....it will be a much better mist....just be sure to not coat it on too thick on your first few passes or it'll run. I usually will mix 2:1 paint to xylol

Questions about restoring my tool chest.

no idea about the silver strip replacement.....but maybe find something that looks similar, and just replace both so they'll match. imo only remove the paint that is rusted or heavily scratched......just a light sanding and thorough rub down with some xylol and spray away. To stay cheap, buy...

Would a formica counter top make a decent workbench surface?

I prefer granite :).....but formica can sure take a beating. Good work surface in the garage. But not in the kitchen!!! :))

    Industrial Metal Desks

yeah that's a solid buy. the tanker desk anyway.....but not the other desk at $250. I'd offer $300 for both and hold my ground....maybe 350

    Industrial Metal Desks

omg I think these desks are the coolest thing going. I've been working on a complete restoration of a 1955 Shaw Walker. It came out of an old appliance store that my family bought over 25 years ago...recently my brother was cleaning out one of the storage areas and was going to throw it away. I...
