    Ok, finally I get started.

Re: Updated pictures I was not aware of that. However, the shop floor is 6 inches lower than the house floor because I wanted a curb around the shop to protect the bottom of the walls from water or whatever. So I guess I'm safe. Thanks for heads up. I'll check the codes here just to make sure.

    Little Giant Ladders...

I own the big Werner model, 22' I believe. I really love this ladder. It's so versatile and very stable. I would recommend one in a heartbeat.

    Ok, finally I get started.

Posts are 16" and the beams range from 4x12 to 8x12 with a couple of 8x15 thrown in for good measure. I'll have some more pics on Monday of the beams that frame out the entryway and the front roof Thanks everybody for the great response to this build. I'm getting quite excited to finish this...

    Ok, finally I get started.

I'll hire a crane. Then they raise it in sections. Block it up, bolt it to the post next section. I have four sections in all. At least in theory thats how it works.

    Ok, finally I get started.

It's permitted as a shop with an 850 sq ft guest house attached. The upper part is listed as storage only. They did sh?t a brick over the upper part. Comes down these days that even if it is your property you can't use it the way you want.

    Ok, finally I get started.

Took a while but I've started construction on my house/shop. I had to tweak a few things about to get a little more living space. It totals 1,700 sq ft living space and 2,400 sq ft shop. Shop is 40'x60' with 14' ceilings.:thumbup...

    Just got my building permit.

Walls are 16' , as far as how tall from the floor to the trusses I'm not sure yet. Some loft storage would definitely be a plus.
