How has your snap on experience been?

I had great experience with 2 different SO truck reps in So. Florida. Moved to North Central Florida and have never had a good SO experience since. The SO rep won't answer his phone unless he recognizes the number. Won't return calls if you leave a message. Won't respond to emails. yeah Chris...

    Generator Questions

Don't know how big your property is but Northern Tool has a few tractor pto generators available. Tractor gets lots of use for all sorts of jobs so it is usually fresh fuel. Portable since you can rig it on the tractor (fab job for the welder) and one less engine to maintain. Down in Florida...

    Using something like Loctite 680

I use Loctite 638 for slip fit assemblies all the time. Clean with solvent first. Loctite primer helps both final strength and speeds up final cure time. 635 for tighter fitting parts also.

Why the Hardi board requirement? My shop is steel and from the outside looks nice. Are you building in a residential/zoned area?

Air compressor isolated room? What are you guys doing to keep sound down?

I have the same IR compressor from TS. Motor went bad after 2 or 3 years of light use. mounted ouside my shop under a roof I put on the side of the shop to park cars. (we all need more car space, right?) I can hear it but it's not annoying. also can hear when it's time to adjust the belt...

Finally started getting my air lines plumbed in.

Looks great! Another benefit to black iron over pvc is if you have a fire the black pipe doesn't melt and then fuel the fire some more. I did my shop in 3/4 black iron also. I've fit a fair amount of pipe over the years so it's nothing new to me. to my surprise when I put air to it I had quite a...
