    HVAC Recommendation

The SF are rounded numbers with a second floor overhang on three sides with over 100 additional SF I posted what I thought the outside extremes and normal ranges and min heating and cooling capacities which are not even close to usual habited spaces. 0-100 for extremes and more normal range of...

    HVAC Recommendation

36x22 two story garage style shop. Zone 1 is 716 SF slab first floor PLUS 470 SF upstairs with air exchange via 42" stairwell need to keep above freezing and cool max upper 80's. Second floor is mostly wood and tool storage and perhaps the finishing room which will have a suitable exhaust fan...

My #4 Ford Viscosity cup drains water in only 5 seconds

I have a chart to determine which size needle and air cup for my Qualspray AM6008 LVLP spray gun. The charts say it should take 12-16 seconds (interweb searches says 5-14 seconds) for water than states times for other fluids. I have very minimal experience with spray gun painting. Lot of...

    Dust Collector Location Question

I considered that but one reason for remote mounting was floor space saving in addition to suspected performance improvement. Seems I would not realize either of those but I would still get the noise reduction which aint nothing. Air compressor is still going upstairs over the retractable hose...

    Dust Collector Location Question

The image wasn't mine, it the first reply. Make up or return air won't be a problem with a wide open 42" staircase between floors. I think I will try to find a first floor location

    Dust Collector Location Question

I understand the performance issue with the added lift but can't really quantify it. That's why I specifically mentioned the reduction in duct run length. I plan to have a lift but yea, a bit of a pain but floorspace is precious. I am hoping to do a bunch more woodworking than I do now which is...

    Dust Collector Location Question

I am in the planning stages, have not selected a unit yet and no photos yet. The tradeoff is a few more feet of lift minus approximately 20 feet of main line run. Wish I had more details. I probably thinking about 2HP two stage

    Dust Collector Location Question

    Quite a congested shop

    Dust Collector Location Question

If I can save 20 feet of main 5-6" diameter duct by placing the dust collector on a second floor directly over most of the tools would that be a good decision? Pros: Does give me more floor space and should be quieter in first floor shop Cons: Have to wire in a remote full bin indicator...

Sheet Stock Lift to 2'nd Floor

The rails don't carry any load except very small side loads to keep the elevator going straight up and down. Finding a lot of YT'ers showing varying details mostly with the the platform construction but same basic design. Have to have the hoist close to wall the unistrut is mounted.

Sheet Stock Lift to 2'nd Floor

Interesting idea but perhaps something for material handling just on the ground floor. Certainly keep the idea in mind. Having overhead lifting is great

Sheet Stock Lift to 2'nd Floor

That message chain was very informative. TWVM My primary plan is a wood framed "bracket" with a 2k pound Harbor Freight hoist with Unistrut rails to keep it aligned. Very much like the first YT video

Sheet Stock Lift to 2'nd Floor

I am dealing a couple sheets of plywood I pick up myself periodically. I am just a hobbyist woodworker and want to store bulk stock out of my way.
