Thanks for the input on these. I just got a new 1/2" drive impact, the 16 gauge finish nailer, and fan. I'm usually spoiled by my Bosch stuff, but Ryobi has some niche items no one else has in cordless, so I will give the newer Ryobi stuff a shot.
Really liking the ROS in the cordless option...
My local snap on guy has a set on special for this month around 272 for a set of Metric in the common sizes. I believe it was a 7 piece set and not a full set, but it came with around 5 fractional impact swivel sockets as well in the common automotive sizes. The fractional set that is included...
I went by Lowe's last night to check these out again. I couldn't do it. The design of the open end looked pretty useless. They taper/ pinch too fast towards the tips. Its as if the rest of the wrench was normal thickness and the tip just went really thin, but not the "thin" to reach limited...

I use both. Depends on situation. I usually don't like quick release, but when I don't want to drop a socket or extension in a deep area, I'll use both locking extensions and a QR ratchet along with a socket that will retain a fastener.
I was at Sears last night and saw the same on a metric set here in Torrance, CA. I thought to myself, "wow, half price for a set of USA made Gimmicky Craftsman wrenches", but when I picked up the set...... I saw exactly what you're talking about when it came to the finish. I thought they were...
