This is my 1946 Wilton 4 1/2". My dad used this vise in the shop he worked at for 37 years. I talked the shop owner into selling it to me as my dad passed away in 2009. I refurbished it and all that is left to do is attach it to my bench.

Gerber multi-tool and a Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. First Production Run 3" folding knife. Found about five feet apart.

It is stamped Chicago on the sides and 7-945 is stamped on the bottom of the key.

I have been reading some of the posts on the dates stamped on the key ways of wilton vises. I just bought one that is stamped 7-945. The vise is a 4 1/2 size and came from the shop my dad worked at for almost forty years. Anyone have a Wilton bullet marked like this?

It is a hip roof design and currently I have one stair then a landing in the corner and then a run of 12 steps.

It is 5 feet from floor to ceiling because of the roofline angle. I also thought about doing the two landings running like you said. I would have to support it with beams wouldn't I?

I agree after looking at it. I'm not sure that me and a 1970 Road Runner fender can both make the trip safely.

I will check that stairway out, might work if I didn't have to put it in the middle of my work/parking areas.

I did consider finding a way to put an outside staircase but it is not really an option in my case.
