I ended up taking both off to get the door down, both "came off" the cable drum and needed unhooked / rewound. Still haven't tackled the job but need to open that door again eventually.
When you say high spring cycles are you telling me it looks like the spring has been given a workout or is...
Nobody??? Sort of shocked to see a "no reply" to a tool! Any help would be greatly appreciated - how about simply saying "Anyone have a quiet portable 2-4 gallon compressor they really would recommend" or "know of a good site that reviews portable compressors and lists the DB levels?"
Thanks
I was doing some searching for a good twin tank compressor or pancake compressor and came across this All Power QuietZone Compressor.
I was intrigued by the DB rating on it more than anything. I have two uses for this piece and both are noise critical. Occasional use in restaurants/medical...
To spare tdkkart from having to tell me how little common sense I have yet again (take no offense please, at this point I'm going to let that one slide and say rushing through this is making me look terribly bad), I'm just going to say I'm an idiot and get it out of the way. While I'm actually...
I'm not looking for a character evaluation, I'm looking for someone with experience with a similar situation so I'd appreciate we stick to constructive advice if you don't mind. It was a bonehead move - I said that up front, but its irrelevant at this point and if you've never had one I hope...
Thanks everyone. I found the manual for my door / spring installation so I'm going to take a closer look at it tonight and go from there depending on how I'm comfortable once I read up on it.
I'm sure I will hear from the "you're going to hurt yourself" folks, but if I didn't have general...
I put myself in a stupid position this morning by accidentally pulling my enclosed trailer out of the garage with a cardboard box sitting on the roof in the rear which managed to catch the rain gutter lip on the rear of the roof and lift the 12x12 garage door up higher than the opener lifted it...
HF coupons
Harbor Freight Coupons... do not go to the store without printing one or two of these out for the 20% off coupon if you think you'll buy something that day... or leave them in the truck for the random purchase we're all guilty of. These should be pushed to the top of the thread if...
Please sticky this thread!!!!!
I've never believe the day would come when I'd go out of my way to say HF is selling anything I'd honestly recommend, but truth be told I have a couple dozen purchases from there and I bet half have survived the test of time.
My #1 absolute favorite item at...
That would be great - my mind started turning with ideas that all will end up costing me a fortune I'm sure - so I'd be very interested if anything he can share keeps it simpler than what I dreamed up... please don't read that as me making any attempt to belittle his design or skills in any way...
Looks good.
Does anyone have any input on adapting one of these to use as a parking guide? I'm looking for a "cooler than sold" solution to help backing my 20' trailer into the back of my shop through a side access door and getting it right where I want it without putting parking blocks on...
For HF I found out about a similar way from a weldingweb post that has worked wonders each and every time for the past few months by bookmarking these two links for quick access to a 20% when needed.

Very nice transformation - you did a lot with little (funds that is) and the results look great. What kind of chain did you use for the overhead shelf support? I have 14' ceilings and want to build similar shelves to keep the floor underneath them free, but I also really like the "library"...
