concrete slab depth for a 40' x 60' 18ft tall Morton pole barn

Got more clarity on the situation. Morton did not pour the slab. Previous owner sub'd out the work. So I may try boring another hole further away from the edge and if that doesn't work then I will have to bring the water line up from the outside. Any thoughts on keeping the water line from...

concrete slab depth for a 40' x 60' 18ft tall Morton pole barn

It is for a water line. Want to keep it inside the building to protect it from freezing.

concrete slab depth for a 40' x 60' 18ft tall Morton pole barn

Correct. 2nd owner. I called Morton Buildings this morning and they are getting the information about this building. When I look here it looks like they do not use footings. https://mortonbuildings.com/blog/concrete-flatwork-tips-for-your-morton-building-project Hopefully get this resolved today.

concrete slab depth for a 40' x 60' 18ft tall Morton pole barn

Drilling a 2 3/8" hole to pass a 2" pvc pipe through and right now I am at 5" down and still see concrete. Hole is placed a little over 13" off the edge on both sides (hole is in the corner). Chose this spot because I need to stay away from the radiant heat lines. Used an infrared camera to...

Lumens value for 16ft high pole barn - need it to be bright

Have a 60 x 40 Morton building with finished white metal walls and ceiling. Ceiling height is 16ft. There are 12 T8 fixtures in the building. Currently there are 45w 5850LM 6000k LED bulbs in them. It is bright but not bright enough for what I am looking to do. Was going to replace them with...

Steel roofing overhang soffit - issue with gutters?

Got three estimates from seamless gutter places for oversized gutters. All three mentioned that the steel roof overhang is going to be an issue with gutters. They said in a heavy rain the water is going to rush over the gutters. Did not get an accurate measurement but it looks like the overhang...

Morton Building with radiant heat - want to drill in the edge of foundation

Amazon had a FLIR One Pro USB camera on sale for about the same price as the cheap chinese one so I bought it. Closest radiant tube is about 18" from the inside wall. So plenty of room. It was VERY clear where the tube was. Also I noticed our electric consumption suddenly jumped by a large...

Boiler flush - how often? Power flush?

Thank guys. Good info. Over the weekend I had to replace part of the metal drain line on one of the boilers, it had rusted apart. Lost a little water. How do I add water to it? Plus when I had it apart I discovered this. System is almost 30 years old. Should this be replaced or fixed?

Boiler flush - how often? Power flush?

Bought a home three years ago with two Raypak H3-01803 residential boilers. I know they are very old. Do not know when the previous owner had them serviced but they did look to be in good condition. Both systems are for radiant heat in a concrete slab. They are water based sealed systems. Just...

Morton Building with radiant heat - want to drill in the edge of foundation

Looked into renting a thermal imaging camera. Only one place near me had one and it was 40 miles away with a $130 rental fee. AutoZone has one with decent reviews for $150 and I have a $20 off code. They do not rent it. Might be a good tool to add to the toolbox.

Morton Building with radiant heat - want to drill in the edge of foundation

Have a 40' x 60' Morton building with concrete pad and radiant heat which was built in 1996. Going to be running utilities (water, nat gas, electric) from this building to a new equine barn. Would like to run the utilities from INSIDE the building but scared of drilling into one of the radiant...

Gondola shelves attached to garage wall

Did a search on here and only found one old result. Gondola shelves are very sturdy which would be perfect for storing car parts, etc. Was wondering if anyone else is using these in their garage and what uprights did you use? I can get a 4' wide x 16 deep shelf for around $10 - $20 which seems...

Morton building with clogged in slab electrical conduit

Have a Morton building and trying to add wires to existing 3/4 EMT conduit. Conduit already has 3 wires in it. Cannot pull on existing wires and fish tape only goes a portion in. Using as shop vac in blow mode there is air coming out of the other end of the conduit so it is not totally clogged...
