    Ultrasonic Cleaners

Back when I worked for a manufacturer, I spec's out some nice custom-made ultrasonic machines made by Bluewave in Davenport IA. I have since left that job after 30 years and have my own shop. The systems we had made were 30 khz Magno restrictive transducers that would last a very long time. Most...

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

I bought in on the first batch, that one did fail after a couple of years, I was sent the upgraded Elite model and that so far has been running for 18 months. For my set up this is the best compressor as noise would be a problem.

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

I run mine without the hood. I check the oil for moisture and change it with new filters every 6 months. I hope this one works for you.

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

The gun is the one TP Tools supplies with their cabinets. Looks like a typical siphon gun. The nozzles, lens covers, and hoses are all wear items. I just had to replace the vacuum motor after about 12-14 years. This is similar to the cabinet I bought, mine is obsolete now. I run it at 100 psi. I...

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

I have been using mine for years to supply a TP TL780 blast cabinet. I have an 80 gallon tank plumbed in place. Depending on the material being blasted I can sometimes finish fast but typically the compressor will load while I am blasting. The blasting issue I have at times is not the fault of...

Best way to clean old Loctite out of a blind hole.

I know this is a older thread but the info is good. I use heat, Loctite breaks loose about 350* so you don't need much time with a small propane. Then I chase them with a tap, I have chasers but they won't cut the loctite out. Blow out the hole, wash with brake cleaner and it should be good...

    Magnetic Dial Indicator Bases

I use mag bases a lot rebuilding differentials. Get a good one now. I had the cheap chinese bases and indicators and Starrett. I store the chinese ones in the trash can, where they belong. My push button Starrett base and 1" indicator are the best. Never had an issue with them, where as I found...

Looking at picking up a Bridgeport mill

Nice work. When we rebuilt them, we just wiped them clean as they were sent out to production use = back when we had factories in CT.

Looking at picking up a Bridgeport mill

I don't think you need to use sealed bearings as long as you use light spindle oil for the spindle bearings and lower clutch bearings. You certainly can but we always used what Bridgeport did, the APEX rating on the spindle bearing did change from a 7 to 5 or 3 over time if I recall. I had an...

Looking at picking up a Bridgeport mill

Looks like a nice machine. My first job out of trade school was rebuilding Bridgeports for the local CT dealer. I spent plenty of time in the factory too. If you look at the ways expect to see wear in the center where all the work is done but sometimes you will get one that still shows the...

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

I use mine everyday for air tools and a blast cabinet. So use varies where the compressor cycles on/off or run consistently if I am blasting for over 5 minutes. There is no hour meter on it, I wish I wired one in when I got but I didn't bother. I have mine plumbed into an 80 gallon tank with a...

    The Eastwood QST-30/60

Well so far I have had some minor issues that Eastwoods took care of right away. My compressor is almost 1.5 years old now. I have not had the motor or air end lock up(knock on wood). I am still very pleased with mine. The noise level issue is a big factor for me. If you do find another one in...

MaxJax, Dannmar M-6 and Triumph C7000 Post Spacing

great idea. This is still something I want to get back to but haven't had any time to approach it. Do you or others have the base plate dimensions or template so I can see how one would fit in my tight garage? Looks like you have height in your nice shop, why did you go with the MaxJack over a...
