I gave the floor a couple weeks to completely cure before moving anything in. Here are a couple early pics for scale.
Hummer, no that's not an H3.
Menards truck delivering retaining wall materials.
Final product before I start destroying it. The finish is a cure and seal only, no other products applied. Someday maybe I'll put a nice permanent finish on it, but for now I'll plan to recoat every couple of years.
Note these pics were taken with the doors closed, and only the daylight...
When we started I knew the slope of the lot up from the driveway was going to present an issue, which is why we excavated so much to bring it down to the level of the blacktop.
As the material layers built up, the floor level got necessarily higher than the driveway approach. The setback of...
Around lunch time I got this shot, which shows the thickness of the slab pretty well. My concrete guy's focus is industrial work and he ordered his usual high strength 8000 psi mix and poured a full 6".
After lunch break the slab was setting up enough to start burning it in. That's Dante...
This picture shows the "keep out" spaces for safe lift mounting without damaging the PEX tubing. This is the westward set, there is a second set that is already covered in this picture.
Prior to the pour, I pressurized the hydronic system to (if I recall correctly) 30psi and monitored for...

Thanks! I grew up riding around the offroad trails in rural WV in my dad's Scout. While a Hummer is hardly a rarity around my parts, I like to consider myself among the heaviest users. My transmission shop would probably agree after the second rebuild.

We needed a heavy...
Future plans call for one or more two post lifts. While I know the floor should be thick enough to be safe, I wouldn't be able to live with the stress of thinking I might punch a heating line while bolting down the lift. So we created a template for the most common lift post layouts and drew...
With the insulation board down, I got to open some boxes of parts.
Using the software available from my vendor, I laid out the 10 heating loops all within 6' of 300' (2%). Took about a day and a half to get it all laid out and attached.
So here is the end result of the gravel drop. Bringing the overall floor level with the bottom of the foam side boards once compacted.
After fully compacted, we covered the gravel with a vapor barrier. With the vapor barrier down and attached to the side foam boards, we laid down the floor...
Time to level up with compacted gravel.
Slinger did a great job, even though he could barely reach the back wall due to the door saddle being right in his way.
Slinging Gravel
At this point, I have the sliders on, and i finally got man doors hung and locks installed. We mounted and anchored the toolbox out of the bed of my brother's pickup to store our tools and expensive hardware. Even though we are in a relatively nice area, there are a occasionally burglaries and...
The plan is to insulate below and beside the floor, but because I do things that could catch the insulation on fire, I don't want any insulation reaching the floor surface. The solution was to rip some boards to 9" wide, then cut a bevel with the table saw. More will become clear as it...
