I got this tool in an assortment of miscellaneous stuff. It has 3 edges. I assume it's an awl of some kind, but when researching awls, I find the long point round shaft ones and 4 side square/ birdcage awls. It may also not even be an awl, but I'm curious what it is and what it's used for

I have a Mitutoyo tape measure and the font looks like it's from some years ago. The "snap lock" looks 70s or 80s to me. Does anyone happen to know about when this tape was made? I'm not having any luck finding anything about it

If you don't have a square and need a line on a board: measure and mark two spots or more, then turn the tape measure over (blade concave facing up), line the marks up, and draw a line connecting them

The titanium ones are intriguing. I don't want metric markings, I've realized. It'll be used for woodworking. 4" would be preferred, but 6" will be tolerable. Taking the ruler from a combination square is a wise idea. I'm also considering cutting a larger, wider rule down to size

To those with Tajima tape measures: I want to get one (with imperial markings). I'd like a class 1, but the Sigma Stop is one I'm also interested in. What are your personal experiences with Tajima tapes? Are the clips durable? I'll be using it for woodworking

It's been hard to find what I want. Even Advent has class 1 tapes being made in China. It's hard finding a class 1 Fisco/ Hultafors or Tajima with imperial markings. I'm still looking with the added stipulations of made in Japan as a possibility and a class 1. Eventually I'll find it
