Questions on painting and installing trim, then filling nail holes

I assume the trim is going to be white? A friend of mine who used to run a construction company used white caulk to fill nail holes, gaps, etc. Said it was easy to fill, clean up, already matched, no painting. Plus, being flexible, it wouldn't crack or split.

which 18V Ryobi cordless circular saw?

I believe mine is the 6 1/2", as the blade is smaller than the 7 1/2" on my corded saw, but not by a large amount. Idk if it's true or not, but i've heard ryobi does not honor warranty if the tool is purchased online from places such as amazon or eBay. Don't know about fb....

which 18V Ryobi cordless circular saw?

I cannot seem to remember the blade size, but the one I have is from before the brushless models. It is not a 7 1/2", but it will just barely cut off a 4x4 if you cut from opposite sides at full depth. I use exclusively the 4ah batteries. I can shut it down on a 2x4, since it's almost all it...

    Turning tiny shed into workshop?

I built a shop at the last place I lived, 10'x12', a wood deck floor on blocks, to avoid a permit. Had shelves built into one side, a full length work bench on the other, and an attic for storage. Came up with my own plans, and built most myself. Later ran power to it. Did a lot of things in...

25yo craftsman vs something new + upgrades

I don't have any 20yr old craftsman ratchets, all mine are more like 35yrs old. The old coarse, 8 clicks per turn ones. Most of my sockets are the same age. I did get a set of the gearwrench fine tooth not long ago, they are nice, and cover my needs. Now, the craftsmans sit in the box, in case I...

Dawn or Palmolive; dish soap for non dish purposes?

Always used dawn, because it worked well at grease removal. Others may work, but i've not tried them, since dawn works.

Stupid welding stunts and pushing my skills.

I was never very good at stick. They held, but were generally ugly. Haven't done any in a long time now. The thinnest i've tig welded was 030", working on gun magazines. Playing with a Flux core some now, everything so far has held, but mostly still ugly. The thinnest i've done anything with was...

    ID homemade tool

I doubt it was made as a weapon. The chrome plating, the lack of a sharp point, or sharp edges along the triangular, are seriously lacking for the effort of a weapon. While a triangular weapon is quite effective, it must make a triangular wound. It was likely built as a driver tool for something.

    ID homemade tool

You mentioned plating, are the weld blobs plated also? I'm thinking some kind of specialized tool. The point has a flat tip, and the outer edges of the triangle are nothing close to sharp, and not really larger than the shaft. Not that it wouldn't stab, but the extra effort for the triangle is...

    Are Canons A Fab Topic?

Seeing as blackpowder is an explosive, and not a propellant, barrel length isn't going to factor much. All of the pressure is generated at ignition, it does not build up as the projectile travels down the bore. This is why you don't find modern day powder fired mortars. If you look at pics of...

    Expiration date on anti-sieze. Really?

I have nickel anti-sieze i've for over 15yrs. The oil will seperate out a bit, I just stir it back in, it's fine. I do keep the cap tight.

    Are Canons A Fab Topic?

Just a heads up, cannons, to be safe, are generally made with a barrel wall thickness not less than bore diameter, unless it is of a special design, or constructed of a material that will handle the pressure.

    Show off your 10 milli's

I don't think i've ever lost a 10 mil, but I did find one once, going out of a store to get in the truck. A shallow 1/4" drive with about a 2" extension on it.

    Hot water tank

Two things: they like to really tighten things on water heaters at the factory, so, you'll need more thathan just a ratchet to break it loose. Two, are you sure that isn't the anode rod? There's usually a fitting ****** for the cold intake, not a plug.
