Holy Frijoles! Post up pics of your Snap On Taco boxes

It's my understanding that Snap On will give you new drawer slides, no charge. I know for a fact that they will give you new casters for free, no questions asked. A guy at work bought a taco wagon from a retiring Mechanic and that box needed new casters, he called Snap On and they sent him a...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

At my work a Morgan Milwaukee 50 Vise showed up in the scrap pile because it's mainscrew and nut were gone. I asked around and found out they had broken and parts were no longer available so it was thrown out. I found a mainscrew nut for a smaller vise and started looking at Acme threaded...

Holy Frijoles! Post up pics of your Snap On Taco boxes

I needed a new handle for my Taco Wagon as the black end caps wandered off over the years and I got tired of my jury rigged ends. I work in a complex of 4 aircraft hangars all in a row and each one sized to hold a 747, so I do a lot of tool box rolling depending in which hangar the broken plane...

Holy Frijoles! Post up pics of your Snap On Taco boxes

To my mind that's a less desirable one as it has sliding doors on the back and less drawers on the end. Looks like it was painted with a brush on the front. I'd offer $350 and aim for $400 if you really like it. I've had mine home from work and they take up a lot of room in the garage. As a...

    Redback vs Redwing work boots

I've got pretty much a full career standing on cement Aircraft hangars and have had good luck with unlined Redwing's with their SuperSole soles. I like the 953 model, they stand up to the jet fuel, engine oil and hydraulic fluid (Skydrol) I come in contact with. I'd like to try some of those...

    Motorcycle Tools

Handy Universal Scissor Jack and Harbor Freight bead breaker. They both are great time savers and I wish I had bought them years ago.

Tools you have, that you've never used...

Early in my career as a A&P Mech I bought a complete 3/8 drive set of Snap-On deep well sockets and after 35 years I'm sure some of them haven't even been off the rail. It's funny to look at them and think they're still virgins.

Mitigating corrosion on summer car parked next to winter car in two car garage?

My motorcycles have shared a two car garage with the same conditions as yours and I've noticed no corrosion on the bikes caused by the melting snow from the car. After 25 years in the same house it's not been a problem. I understand the concern but I don't worry about it. I think the worse...

    Why is Everything Spline Drive

Spline drive nuts and bolts are used on Jet engines and that's what Snap-On designed their tools for. The wrenches work on regular hardware also but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them for that purpose.

    Best caster material ?

Those Northern wheels look similar to what comes on less expensive toolboxes. The work good if you don't do much rolling around and they won't flat spot. I like phenolic wheels for my heavy toolbox that I have to roll long distances in the aircraft hangars, they last a long time and roll easy...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

These wrenches are only 35 years old but they certainly are odd, British Standard sizes.

Where to buy high quality hose clamps

I can't help with a source for those clamps but any auto parts store has fuel injection hose clamps. In function they are similar to the clamps you're looking for as they don't bite into the hose.
