Porcelain tile in garage in Canada

Very good suggestions here, over the next week I'm going to look for tile so see what the cost is. I got a quote to completely redo my floor for 9500 cdn. So far the tile guy quote is 5500 not including the tile. The way I'm thinking now , i bet tile won't be much different from repouring the...

The guy that does the polyaspartic coating is the only one who said his product can't eliminate the low spot. So yes I am not consideirng that method.

Porcelain tile in garage in Canada

I'm in Canada near Niagara Falls and I'm looking into porcelain tile also, as you can guess the winters are brutal with lots of sand salt making its way into the garage. We always park our two cars indoor. To be frank it scares me a bit to put tile in my garage, winters are so dirty. Anyhow got...

    Garden Hose Quick Connects

Let me tell you about my experience, I've been using Eley fittings, they are brass, now a lot of hoses out there like flexilla (that's what I have) have aluminum ends. I found out the hard way, my expensive Eley fittings welded themselves to the hose. Had to break them to get them off. I've...

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

Today I changed out the jointer plug with a 6-30 plug. I had some issues to tighen up the terminals I'm guessing because the wire from the machine is 12/3 and this 6-30 plug is made for 10/3 I could not get them tight enough. I had to bend the terminal a little to make the opening a little...

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

Can someone explain to me why some 3hp motors have an amp rating of 15 amps and I've seen some as low as 9 amp. I noticed when I was shopping for a new jointer, eventually buying this used one. Just curious, is there some kind of efficiency factors involved here, like a good motor uses less amps...

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

This is a 10 year old jointer, so no warranty, I noticed in the manual it said it did not come with a plug and the previous owner said he put a plug on it to match his shop

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

Many thanks for the advice, Changing out the plug makes most sense and it accomplishes leaving my receptacles alone and then I can plug my jointer in any of the three receptacles.

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

Thanks for confirming, so to recap , I can either change the plug on the jointer to a 6-30p or change out one of the 6-30r receptacles to the one that matches the plug on my jointer which is a 6-20p. I guess there are also adapters I can get, altough more expensive, it would allow me to plug my...

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

I read the manual , no mention of overload protection, all it says it must be on a circuit 240 with minimum 20amp.

Wiring question 240v to my jointer

I guess I'm asking if this can cause a situation where the motor for some reason draws more amps due to a malfunction and causes a fire.
