I have a request if anyone can oblige. Would someone be willing to post the measurements of the feed stop bracket? Ideally the thickness and distance from the collar opening to the stop rod opening. I’ve come to the conclusion I’ll need to either source one from a different model or make one...
Thanks. Good news, bad news.
GOod news is the quill, and pinion teeth, seem to be undamaged, in part because there is no return spring at all, and in part because I'm 99% sure that the quill isn't original as it's threaded and not tapered.
It has the indent on it for the the pinion shaft...
Google image searched it, this is exactly what it looked like before I painted it, you are correct. Mine didn't have the simplicty logo but otherwise is identical. It's a heavy beast. Hope I didn't ruin any collector value painting it but I wasn't a fan of the hearing-aid beige...
I’m in the process of fixing this up…got the quill assembly apart…does anyone know if the quill (pictured) is an aftermarket replacement? I can’t see anything threaded in any of the pictures or videos of these presses, all seem to be tapered.
Thanks. Second question…do I risk damaging the machine using it without them? Previous owner had a hose clamp just above the chuck. Not sure why, except that maybe it provided the tension that the ring on the feed stop bracket did.
Hey, thanks everyone for this great resource. does anyone have a source for the feed stop rod or the feed stop bracket?
I’m restoring a 103.23130 model, but it’s missing the feed stop rod and the feed stop bracket that attaches above the chuck.
