    Costco 4' LED shop light

I just picked up a dozen when I saw our local Costco had them for $30 instead of $40

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

This is true. But I imagine they are a big jump from the 100W bulbs that were in there previously. :3gears: BTW thank you for all the advice and hard work putting this together and maintaining the thread. Much appreciated.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I've been following this thread a while and trying to keep from buying... But I was in Costco over the weekend and their fixtures were $30 a piece (down from 40) which puts them slightly ahead of the online ordering deal in $/Lumen (I think, guess depending on tax). I need 12 for my garage, and...

    airborne sawdust combustion?

I had a circular saw shoot a 4 foot flame in college while ripping several sheets of MDF in a closed garage (trying to avoid annoying the neighbors). By the 5th or 6th sheet, it was pretty thick air, not that I knew better or that my paper filter mask wasn't doing anything for me... The cord on...

Need help sealing sides of garage door from the inside.

I'm sure someone with more experience will come along and give a better explanation, but in my experience: The tracks shouldn't be parallel to the wall you are closing the door against. Normally the top of the track (below the turn) should be further away from the wall than the track at the...

Two Post Lift Door Protection DIY

Had a post in an old garage, and did something similar. I used a pool noodle from the dollar store and some extra long zip ties though. I think I had $1.50 into the whole thing. Cut a quarter out of the pool noodle so it fit the corner.

    Bendpak 220v Question?

That was my thinking as well. Any reason to hardwire other than a little reliability? (sorry for the thread jack, I thought it was related)

    Bendpak 220v Question?

Is there any benefit to adding a plug to the lift vs hardwiring? I have a 220v outlet in the right place (wired when the garage was built) and I'd rather just add a plug than hardwire it there.

Colorado Springs - need help finding contractor

If you're still looking, call John Bissett at JM Weston Homes up in Monument. Haven't seen his work, but his family is good people, for what that's worth. If you're looking at buying land, talk to Phil Struska (http://www.trulia.com/profile/philip-struska-agent-colorado-springs-co-302709). Our...

Colorado Springs - need help finding contractor

Not sure how I missed this thread, I'm just down the road from you I think. A few of my neighbors have large detached shops (not on acreage though) and I can go find out who built them if you're interested. I have an acquaintance who had one built by Majestic home builders (one of the semi to...

    DADx2's long awaited garage build ! 36 x 30

Great looking garage, and great taste in cars! (also have an e36 m, full size chevy, although I've got a 2002 instead of an e30) How do you like the lift so far? Any feedback positive or negative, lifting big and small cars? I'm trying to figure out how to make it as flexible as possible...

    work benches... from scratch

Neither is a particularly good shot, but they just look like benches. I used 2x4's for the legs with 2x6 for the top of the skinny bench, and for the front of the top of the fat one. Lower shelf on the skinny one is framed with 2x4's, and everything is topped with OSB and held together with...
