    "Vise Grip" locking pliers recommendation

I've got Grip On vise grips that I got off Amazon. They're made in Spain and are good quality. Gray Tools in Canada re-brands them so maybe they're a little easier to get in Canada, but I see them on US Amazon as well.

Fireball Tool Hardtail Vise - The Best Vise On The Market???

Curious if you ended up coming out with a projected cost yet? I agree there's no reason for people to come on here and "**** all over" anyone's ideas. But at the same time, your desire to build a vise seemed to be driven by questioning the cost on Fireball's vises, suggesting that the $3800...

Best Automotive polisher for home use?

I have the Adams Swirl Killer DA. It was just an easy combination of a decent price, good quality, and easy to order at the time. Maybe this goes without saying, and you're already looking at a DA polisher, but just make sure you get a DA/random orbit and not regular rotary one. I've used...

Which long handle flex head ratchet do you use more, 3/8 or 1/4?

Agree with above. First general use ratchet I grab is a 3/8 long flex head. If I'm working on something more dainty I'll use a shorter length flex head 1/4 ratchet. I have a long 1/4 flex ratchet but very rarely use it, because if I need extra leverage then why am I using 1/4 drive?

Harbor Freight USA made bolt breakers

This is basically what I expected. An impact gun is already hammering, just maybe not as hard as an air hammer. But then a big impact is going to generate way more rotational energy than I can with one hand on a wrench while holding an air hammer in the other hand. Only way I could see this...

Harbor Freight USA made bolt breakers

Does anyone have much experience using these? I watched a couple YT videos that seemed to show they weren't very effective. Living in an area that salts the roads I'm always interested in new ideas to free stuck fasteners, but they have to actually work.

Found nothing using search. Looking for the best (quiet) multi-tool.

I have the DeWalt 20v one because I find this is a type of tool that is much handier cordless, and I already had the batteries. Generally I'm grabbing the multi tool to do small flush cuts or other oddball cuts in the middle of a bigger job, and I'm much more likely to grab it when I don't have...

    The Rise of 1/4" Drive

I have 1/4" sets if I absolutely need them, but 3/8" is my go-to. They go all the way down to like 6mm, and I have the Nano sockets if it's a confined space. I'm not sure how much more could be gained with a 1/4" socket than what you get in a 3/8" Nano. Same for impacts and power ratchets...

    6 point is the king!

This is my main point that I probably tried to say in too many words. People don't believe 12 pt = 6 pt for grip, but they are willing to take the trade off for the extra positions in certain situations.

    6 point is the king!

With regards to the bigger picture of 6 pt vs 12 pt, it all comes down to situation and what trade offs you're willing to make. The open ends were by far the worst, which is to be expected, but people still buy open end wrenches and use them because they are required in certain situations...

    6 point is the king!

The Proto and Powerbuilt both maxed out the gauge on 6 point, but that's because 6 point is the geometry with the most grip, so there's a lot more margin for error in machining/quality. The Proto open end, 12 pt, and spline all smashed the Powerbuilt, which is what you're "paying for" with more...

if you had to pick just one battery Milwaukee m12 ratchet which would you pick?

Here are my thoughts: I don't really follow the big 1/4" vs 3/8" debate. They're the same exact ratchet head if you're comparing apples to apples I believe? Like Fuel high speed 2566 vs 2567 is just literally the anvil that is different. So I'm not sure what the big advantage of 1/4" here...

    Tekton Price Increase Notification

This is a bit of an odd take to me. You don't like Tekton because they increased their prices. HF increased their prices, they just slapped a new gimmicky name onto their new "premium" line tools, so it doesn't feel like a price increase. In either case you're paying a similar price for...

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

I'm sure the DeWalt 12v tools are nicer than the M12, because I firmly believe the 20v are nicer than the M18 tools I've used. When they do design a tool, they do a good job of it. But it's also obvious the company isn't interested in investing a lot of money into 12v tool R&D. Any of the...
