    Mildew on wood

Agree with the last sentence for long time success. What the OP showed are loose spindles — easily sprayed and kept wet. But they can be dumped in a bucket and submerged in chlorine water, and it’ll kill the mold and everything else. There are obvious bad places not to use chlorine bleach for...

    Mildew on wood

Huh? Chlorine bleach will absolutely kill mold.

    Mildew on wood

I would spray them with some bleach bathroom cleaner all the way around let them sit five minutes and then take a scrub brush with soapy water. Rinse well.

Getting into my head too far. How to support my storage shed?

Two girl bags per hole is enough if you’re real accurate with your holes so that you can have a nice square building. A girl bag is the 40 pounder that they sell at the big box store. The man bag is an 80 pounder and I’m too old to be a man anymore in regards to concrete. Six posts might be...

No piers. Poles in holes in ground set in concrete.

Getting into my head too far. How to support my storage shed?

For the shed that’s gonna take the garden tractor maybe you should just build the shed on leveled out dirt, lay down some heavy plastic and then gravel on top. A baby pole barn. You can just drive the mower in and out. No ramps to build, no complication. And can’t get much cheaper. If you think...

Getting into my head too far. How to support my storage shed?

Your last two sentences are the answer. I think I’d put a post in each corner and then in the middle of the 12 foot span, I’d pour a little pier or a little footing for a pier to support the middle. Hardest part is gonna be putting the holes in the ground with a lot of roots and rocks to bust...

Need Advice On Installing OSB To Garage Trusses

The metal is impermeable, so no moisture will pass except for the joints. You could seal the joints, but I don’t think it’s necessary. A lot of this has to do with moisture generation in the heated and cool space. Gas heat, cooking, bathroom showers things like that make a lot of humidity inside.

Need Advice On Installing OSB To Garage Trusses

OSB will be a hellish thing to hang and finish. And if you’ll have humidity it is a poor choice of material. Go with metal. Friends don’t let friends use OSB.

What to do about crawl space floor

OP, do you want to be able to walk around and store things in your crawlspace? If so, you’re gonna need more than plastic on the ground. Once you get it leveled and smooth out, you can put down heavy plastic and then lay some foam boards on top of that. Then add some plywood, OSB or some sort of...

    Welding thin metal

My answer would be to send it to a guy who does micro welding on a daily basis. Micro tig or laser is the tool for this. It can be perfect. Obviously, you will have to send a jig to hold the parts in relation to each other.

    Ceiling Fan Shop?

Yes, you want a fan and yes, it’ll move air and make the space more comfortable. And if you live in a place with high humidity, a dehumidifier will help in your shop a lot too.

Yet Another "How Do I Insulate This Roof?" Post

That will work but you won’t have much insulation value. Also, you have to either vent it or seal it up. Poorly vented is where the big problems come in. Your idea will leave you with a hot man cave. I don‘t think you’ll like being up there in the summer. That area will need more insulation to...

Just got a new tool box, now how to decontaminate it.

I just cleaned up a really greasy tool chest. It had what appeared to be cutting oil mist and grinding dust inside and out. I sprayed it with a can of Gunk and scrubbed it with a brush, including the slides, then hosed it out with garden hose. I let it sit in the sun for a couple of days to dry...
