Thanks but I can't take credit for the design, I took a bunch of different ideas and just put them together. The general ideas came from a welding site.
Exactly. Some guys source a flat piece of plate half the size of the benchtop as well - then you can move it around on the top as the project dictates.
Incredible project. A great garage/shop and incorporated into the existing house so well. I could see this costing more than the original build cost of the 20 year old house but overall, especially given the quality of workmanship, I'd guesstimate it would probably triple the overall property...
Here's a welding bench I made about a year (and a bit) ago...
Removable handle for moving it around...there're a vise and anvil on mounts that can slide into that receiver or the one on the front of the bench...
I've lurked here before after finding this site through a moto site.
I ride a BMW R1200RT and drive a 2500 Ram with a Cummins.
I have my dream garage right now which is set up with a couple of welders and a mix of automotive and carpentry tools. Unfortunately I have to move due to work so...
I have one of these out in the garage.
Not waterproof but...resistant.
I wipe the sawdust off it every few months - it keeps on working.
I've had it for ~6 years now.
