    BloomingtonMike's 40X64X16

Mike, What did you end up doing for heat? I think I saw in another thread you were using radiant. What is your size and layout? It looks like you are doing all the things I am planning for my build. You have done a lot of planning. I just don't want to miss something before I pull the trigger...

    BloomingtonMike's 40X64X16

Bloomingtonmike, Great looking shop and awesome tools. I live West of Lincoln, IL and looking at building next spring. Mine will be very similar to yours except 12' sidewalls. Can you send me quote info and salesman contact? How does construction compare to Morton? Thanks, George

Pole barn over stick built slab

Thanks for the input guys. Inspections and permits are not an issue here. Last permit I got for house addition I asked for code requirements and inspection and they laughed at me. Lady said "we just want to know who's building for taxes". I really can't move sighting of building. Frost heave is...

Pole barn over stick built slab

I hoped to be farther along than this by now, but winter has been brutal. :sad:I am tearing down a dilapidated (sp?) 30x30 stick built garage and planning a 36x54x12 pole barn almost in the same location. I have a skid steer with breaker hammer and plan to break up the pad, but am wondering if I...

    Option for skirt board

I don't know what area you are in, but Menard's carries a composite grade board. It is a little more than wood but it looks nice. I haven't used it so I can't say how it will last though.

    Partially opening garage door question

Ok, I concede defeat. I was hoping there was a consistent and easy method with a residential opener. I guess opening all the way is my best option.

    Partially opening garage door question

I am probably over thinking the whole thing. The two main doors for my wife's car an my truck will be opened one or two times daily. Her minivan doesn't need 10' of head room and I can slip my truck in an 8' door but I wanted to put 10' doors on to keep life simple and give me options for entry...

    Partially opening garage door question

I am planning 10' tall doors on my new garage/shop. The majority of the time I will not need a fully opened door for vehicle entry and exit. Are there any openers that can be programmed to open 7 or 8 feet for most applications and then fully opened when needed? I think I have seen commercial...

Pole barn blow in wall insulation?

Smokem2020, Did you put up house wrap on outside before putting up tin and plastic on the inside? Do you remember an approx cost for insulation? I got a quote for about $4500 for walls and $4000 to spray the roof. Higher than the CFO (wife) will sing off on for now. I don't think I will spray...

Pole barn blow in wall insulation?

Smokem2020, Did you use any kind of vapor barrier, either inside or out? How did you blow in from the top with steel installed? Do you have any pics? What type of a setup did you use for blowing in? Thanks for the help.

Pole barn blow in wall insulation?

Fleixa, I saw that it wasn't yours after I posted. I hope your build goes well. Bullner, Are you active on the minibuggy site also? I think the 8' fiberglass is the way to go. Is air infiltration a problem? What steps did you take to prevent it? $150 a roll is worth me being a little itchy...

Pole barn blow in wall insulation?

Fleixa, Thanks for the reply. I may go the shelf girt route. Your garage looks great. I like the loft area and really like the lift. Well done.
