A life-long tinkerer, self-taught DIY-er, "Jack-of-all-trades" maker and certified tech head. I started out on a farm, went to university, and worked in all manner of jobs and companies.
I've done a lot, IT guy in two super computer facilities, a residential staff member in a university residence, farm hand, bar man, wedding photographer, drone pilot, product designer, field researcher in everything from marine biochemistry, geological chemistry, even mechatronic/software engineering in a cheese factory. Most recently, I've been contracted to mount software defined radio trackers to DJI drones to track wildlife, and have been tracking Pangolin populations across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
When I'm home, I volunteer at a local maker space, and DIY as much as possible since I have to make progress on our "renovator's delight". Meanwhile my better half and I foster homeless dogs for a local non-profit, and despite the size of some of our rescue dogs, we attract a surprising range of stray animals of all types into our menagerie/homestead of utter chaos.
