    Thanks for the input guys! I am hesitant on buying it without hearing it run because last time I bought a compressor off CL (portable 30somethin gallon 3hp for $150) it pumped for a few seconds the slowly come to a stop then fried the motor. Not looking to throw away money like that again.

    And as far as a ridge vent, I have a 2x4 along the ridge so that (as far as I know) wouldn't work. Edit: I CAN install a ridge vent

    Thanks p! That's kind what I was looking for. I see that it works off of wind but I have a LARGE solar water heating panel (~8x16') on the west side of my roof where the breeze comes from. I can off-center the vent but I dunno if it'll be as efficient.
