I'm in houston with zero snow load, and my spec'd beams were pretty darm large.
I had 2- 1-3/4" X 18" LVL laminated nailed and bolted as the ridge beam 24' long, and the crossbeam as a 3-1/2" X 16" anthony POWERBEAM. the opposite end was supported by a 4x4.
It was no small feat getting...

Insurance pays top dollar for professional remediation and re-construction. Do the construction, and you can make a nice bit of change...

I have used Bosch and Dewalt tools with much success. Im currently using a portercable set thats badass, but after using my fathers Bosch 18V set, i wish i had gone for a few more features...
fwiw i looked into ordering a garage door from HD and i found that it was the same price here in Houston to have a BETTER door installed by an overhead door company...
