I enjoyed your story; the black flagged and pull into the pits made me chuckle as corny as it was I enjoyed it.
As you said those single cylinder inteks are notorious for HG issues. Thankfully its a very simple and cheap fix, Ive done a few of them now.
I've also run into some of the Intek v...
Yeah availability is all over the map depending on what you need and how quickly you need it. Sometimes you can get lucky with Amazon these days but if you need it today then your best bet is a hydraulic supply place. And yes JIC and AN are interchangeable as long as they are a 37 degree flare...
I reread what you posted but for some reason continue to confuse myself with what exactly youre after. Basically it sounds like youre trying to plumb in the cooler in between the compressor and the tank.
So its going comp head out which is compression fitting which then needs to go to the...
^Lol! Bearings can still fall apart but going to assume sarcasm on your end ;)
Good trick with the bolt and washer, not sure why I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
Sorry, I guess I shouldn't say excess solder per se. Lets go back to basics for a second. The electrical conductivity of solder is less than that of copper, of course it depends on the type of solder used but regardless of that its not as conductive as copper.
A proper soldered connection...
^Thats what I meant by wicking. Of course moisture is always a concern from a corrosion perspective too.
And yes a proper mechanical crimp is how OEMs do it as it is very reliable. Of course it comes at a high entry cost to have the proper crimpers for the specific pins so at a homeowner level...
That is a fine unit; my father has the same one albeit from about a dozen years ago but same model and similar specs. For homeowner use it works well but everything else stated is true so keep your needs in mind.
The GC Honda motors are consumer grade not to be confused with the GX commercial...
Soldered connections are not an approved method in motorsports these days either and a proper mechanical crimp is the preferred method. Issues with cracks from vibration, excess solder increasing resistance and a big thing is the solder wicking up past the joint then causing the wire to become...
I have that exact kit and it works great. The burrs have held up surprisingly well too. At that price point its really hard to beat getting both a straight and angled grinder with burrs for under $120. not to mentioned they have sufficient power so its not like they're just less expensive bc...
That is kinda cool but I wonder if it has enough grip to make itself worthwhile? Can you expand on how you used it and how it worked out as expressing that it worked OK doesnt exactly instill much confidence.
Awesome love these giveaways and your tools, thanks guys!
I prefer to purchase tools online if I know Im going to need them from Amazon Tooltopia JB Tools Ebay etc. However when Im in the middle of something and need a special tool and limited on time I end up at Sears(not so much anymore)...
Very curious to see what you have up your sleeve with this...I too have a lolly column in the middle of my garage and I hate it wish a passion. I setup one of my lift posts pretty much right next to it but I find myself always having to slip between them which is annoying. Wish I could get rid...
Its definitely not a v band clamp as you can see the grooves in the pipe that allow it to be slipped over and snugged down vs two smooth surfaces that seal on themselves when you crank down a v band clamp.
Now to answer your question, its essentially just a typical universal exhaust clamp. The...
