Two pieces of masking tape, one on the post and the other on the lift, when they align take you finger off of the button. Works for me.

This is how I did mine.

I picked up some bakers pans at a swap meet, welded some 1/4" tubes on each end and bent up some round bar stock. This makes them adjustable from side to side, they work great. Hemideuce.
