Not true - check the under the "FORCES" tabulation in the truss calcs and you will see several members with compressive forces, some over 3000 pounds (yes, I am a licensed Structural Engineer).
The truss design printout is a bit confusing. The load table indicates that the trusses are designed for no bottom chord live load (BCLL=0) however note 3. says it is designed for a 20 psf BCLL, which is it? Also, note 5 states that the center portion of the bottom chords are designed for a 40...
Check with your local building inspector or inspecting service because I think you may find that a set of sealed and signed plans may be required. Of course you can also ask the engineer you are going to meet.
Funny this topic should arise now because I am currently designing new foundations for the bleachers and stairs at a local HS football field because the existing foundations have heaved as much as 15" due to frost. When I was first called to look at the bleachers I could see immediately what...

Has anyone ever heard of an Air Hawk compressor? I have a line on a Model H560, 2 stage, 60 gal.,220V bought in 1994 that is reportedly in very good condition. What would be a fair price for this compressor?
Wow! I just looked at the Eaton website and that is a kick-*** compressor! It's listed at $1190 so with shipping it will be a bit over my budget, but, what else is new. It didn't list the shipping weight but it must be over 500# since the bare pump alone is 222#. Those of you who ordered one...
I've got my stimulus check and I'm ready for a bigger compressor! Requirements are:
60 gal upright

American made (if possible)
220v single phase
budget of $800-$1200
It is just for home use. I am really tired of waiting on my 30 gal craftsman when using air tools like a...
