What is the best way to organize/display your ratchets? I have quite a few 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" that I'm not sure how to store them. By drive size in separate drawers? All in same drawer but by size? How do I keep them from rolling around? Does anyone make an organization tray or anything for them?
Wilde made the Craftsman, and I just found out they made the ones for Walmart too. They only made 12, 17, 25, 31 and 36 for Craftsman. Wilde made 6 sizes, the 6th being 8". They also made this rack.
So my dad gave me 2 old wrenches awhile back. One was seized due to being rusty and full of old gunk. The other had a cracked jaw that needed replaced. Last night my father in law gave me another. I now have 6" (father in law) 8" and 10" (dad). They're soaking over night and I'll clean them off...
Put it on the wire wheel. Got the rust off, but it's still noticeably different color. Sprayed some brake parts cleaner on it. Still a little bit to clean up. Dad called me and said he found an 8" wrench that us rusted up. Crescent Crestoloy is what he said it is. Will get it when our baby comes...
I'll probably take the wire wheel too it to get it cleaned up. The 2 color drives me nuts. Baby girl coming any time, so this will have to wait, but I at least got it working.
Found a replacement jaw for it. Original Crescent too. You can see the cracked old one and the new one installed. New one hasn't been out of a box, so it hasn't gotten worn like the wrench.
So I got it unstuck. I sprayed it with some PB Blaster a few days ago and let it sit. Went out today and removed the pin. The thumb wheel came out and so did a bunch of gunk. The jaws would not budge. Grabbed a punch and put the wrench in my vise. Couple taps with a hammer and it broke loose...
