Its an empty space inside the flat part of the ceiling, I guess that is a vent hole? Removing that part of the ceiling would require redoing the garage door, plus entire garage is sheetrocked and so I would like to keep that. Doable, just trying to find a cheaper solution.

I've got a garage with a ten foot ceiling but with the garage door opener I only have 9' of clearance. Will a four post lift fit under this? I mainly want the storage so I need to double stack cars. I also have a void above the left side which I might be able to raise the ceiling height...
